Full hookups with some shade. No picnic tables! Did not use bathrooms. They were OK but not great. On site management sparse

Club friendly meeting rooms and lots of spaces with pull throughs. Many permanent residents and long term workers living on premises. Quiet and lovely sites. Friendly staff.

I've been to many places, this by far is the best. It's extremely quiet off the beaten path and reasonable distance to Houston, bellville, sealy. Great shaded spots and unshaded too if you have satelite. Decent antenna tv from houston. Very good water for texas! I love this place and i will come back. Read the directions on how to get here on the website. Pay attention. Hascienda is coushatte rd in Belleville Tx! That's the "light" the website is referring. Once you're on coushatte for 5 miles, look for the radio tower (3 red blinking lights at night) on the right..thats nelius rd. It's the right hand turn to the campsight, about a mile to go straight in and you're there. If it's after hours, get a spot pay in the morning. Near the office is 50/30..to the left near the pond is all 30A..water sewer too. Perm campers were all nice, waived best of all..kept to themselves! They weren't nosy. I didn't use facilities, i have my own. Owner is fantastic and very accommodating. I can't say enough about the ranch here.

About

In 1877 the Nelius Family settled here at Coushatte in Bellville, Texas. They farmed cotton and raised cattle. Horses were used in the fields until after 1948. Then, in the 1950’s, Trenckmann Nelius began to raise chickens and eggs. Cattle raising was still practiced, along with farming maize, to provide food for the chickens. In 1973, Trenckmann and Margie Nelius started the Coushatte Recreation Ranch with only 24 hookups. Since then it has grown to 225 sites with full hook ups, both 30 and 50 amp! Margie named the campground “Coushatte Recreaction Ranch” after the Coushatte Indians that thrived on this very land long ago. There is a Indian Mound on the ranch, and many arrow heads have been found there. Since starting the Ranch, Trenckmann and Margie had five children; three sons: Fritz, Wayne, and Howard; And two daughters: Gail and Margie. Howard and his wife Pamela Nelius did own and operate Coushatte Recreation Ranch up until November 2019 when they decided to sell the Ranch after many years of caring for the campground. We now have a New owner by name George Jarkesy, who bought the campground on November 12,2019 to make it bigger and better for the tenants to enjoy. This is a great place to stay on the weekend to enjoy or wonder place to call home.
