Stopped here for an overnight stay on our way west. There is about 45 pull thru sites and all of them are level concrete pads. All the roads are paved. No real trees yet as it's a fairly new park. Also it's city owned and managed.
This is a new campground that's only a couple of years old. It is extremely well maintained. The bath house is super nice and clean doesn't have any spiders. All of the pads are concrete with an extra pad with a picnic table and a little pad that has all of your hookups. There are many pull through sites and many sites that are good for big rigs. Siteone is a sunny site so if you're planning to come join us anytime you might not want it or maybe even to go a little bit farther down to three four five and six. Get your Kentucky fishing license and fish off of the pier into the Kentucky River.
The campground appears fairly new and is in a beautiful setting near a pretty state park. When the trees mature there will be lots of shade. It is right on the river with a river deck and many picnic tables. Sites are mainly pull through with a few back ins right on the river. There are two long term campers here an we are the only other campers. Pads are concrete and fairly level. Good hook-ups. Grounds are very well maintained. Nice playground area. Now the negatives-empty campground and yet filthy bathrooms. A shooting range? very close by (next door?) and loud gunfire all afternoon and evening. A truck with 2 men circling and appearing to look everything over. Parked and stared at our camper for quite a while. Several times times-different trucks circled. Scary. Quite a few non campers obviously coming in to use the playgrounds and facilities. Don’t feel real safe and probably won’t come back, but hope some improvements are made because there is a lot of potential for a very nice campground here. We stayed one night in a small travel trailer.
