Reviews for Ajax Country Livin' RV Park

| Stopped for the night

By user-4578144... on 2017-10-23.

We just stopped for the night. We called a few hours prior to arrival and the owner gave us a few tips in getting here. The park is about 2 tenths of a mile from interstate. The park was very quiet and pretty upon arrival. The lady showed us a few spots and let us pick which one we preferred, which was nice. The park was mostly empty which was fine by us. We didn't notice dogs barking, even though there were a few there. The sites weren't perfectly level which is to be expected from time to time, nothing that a leveling block didn't fix. We will stay here again because of the southern country feel of the place. We prefer to stay at mom and pop type of places and this matches it. However, during the week and daytime hours there seems to be a sawmill across the road which was kinda loud. I recommend staying here if passing through. The people were nice and helpful. But be ready for cash or check only. The highlight of the stay was a small produce stand close to the park as well as the cafe. Opens at eleven am, and the food was outstanding.

We have been staying in this park for years when traveling through LA. Its a very nice park for our one night stops. They still take Good Sam, and Passport America.

This is a great little park. Owners are on station and actually interact with you. The sites are pull through for the most part. There are a few back-ins. A nice little Lake and a small meadow. There are clean facilities which have a ladies and men shower. The whole park is very clean. A cute little market that also has BBQ is just across the street. Stayed here with a 45 ft rig and tow. Our spot was long enough to not have to un-hitch. Would gladly stay here again.

Not very busy which is OK for us. We needed a place to stay for the night. All the hookups for $22. We'll stop by here again.

Very nice little campground easily accessed from I-49. The sites are level. Interior roads are narrow, gravel and dirt. Sites are gravel and grass. There's a pretty catch-and-release lake on the grounds. Great place to just kick back and relax. The laundry has 2 washers ($1.25) and 2 dryers ($1.25). There are very friendly dogs that roam freely through the campground. The dogs aren't a problem, but no one picks up after they poop.

| Good for a night

Read other reviews, but had a good experience with the manager. Quiet park, grassy sites, easy to drive past, so slow down as soon as you get off the exit. Passport America was 15.60, full hook ups.

I stayed here because of the previous 2014 experience. I came back owners were very helpful. my air conditioner went out. they lent me a ladder and helped and assisted me with fixing my unit. very accomadating. I also noticed the park maintenance man being helpful to other campers. I would go back again next year. nice quiet remote relaxing park with a lake I kayaked and fished on.

None of the cgs closer Natchitoches sounded too good, so we ended up at this one, and boy are we glad we did! We would definitely stay here again. What a pretty, peaceful spot - green grass, trees, and a lake. It's not a foo-foo place, just pretty! We also LOVED the historic downtown of Natchitoches - beautiful!!! A must see! Our favorite town in LA so far! Also, be sure to do the Cane River National Heritage Trail and plantations drive. And lastly, you can't miss eating at Mim's, a great down home cafe just across the street from the cg. I don't even really like fish, but Mim's catfish is the best fish I've ever eaten - I will miss that, as well as the whole area. They also have great BBQ and fried apple pies! I see that the reviewer before me (anmericaninks) has left some unkind comments. Just know that we don't like listening to barking dogs either, but we had our windows open almost the whole time, were parked much closer to the "barking dogs" (that are all rescues the good-hearted owners have taken in) than that reviewer (we met him and his dog...), and we didn't have any issues. And know this: after that reviewer left, the cg owners had to clean up several dog poop piles that his dog left in his site...!! The only complaint I had with the RV park was low water pressure, but I told the owners and they must have boosted their well pump, as it improved shortly after talking to them. Cash or check. With Passport America it was $18/nt! A great deal for a great place!

i have stayed there a lot of times on my way to ms. it is a nice clean park and very accomadating. i will stay there as it is quiet and relaxing with a nice lake. i also like the long lots as some times i do not unhook my truck from my rv. i give it a five star in my book.

I pulled up at 9 PM with my wife and 2 daughters. Read the board and drove to a spot. A man came over who reeked of alcohol and asked me if I paid. I said no I want to use a credit card. He said no cards cash or check and he wants me to pay tonight and walks away. I walk to the box fill out the form and drop my $30 in. He comes back and asked what's going on an why my family is still in the truck. I advise him my girls are watching a movie and my wife is on the phone. Then he tells me " What part of come to the office did you not understand." RUDE! Then I tell him I already paid the money is in the box. He still wants me to go to the office. As we are walking I tell him I've been traveling all over the U.S. and never had to do this. He then says "Are you from this country" RUDE yet again! I tell him I am and I'm a Marine. He sarcastically says "Well Thank You For Your Service" I took my money and left.

| Nice place

By user-5256144... on 2017-10-23.

It's off the highway so no highway noise. Sites were level. Bathrooms and laundry room were adequate. There is a field in back for walking dogs, picnicking or just be in nature. Stayed 3 nights because I just really liked the setting. It was quiet and the owners were nice.

| Nice overnight spot

By user-4971294... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2015-03-19 to 2015-03-20

Clean, pretty site with a nice pond. Staff was friendly and accommodating, the attendant guided us to our site with a big light even at 10:30pm! Most sites are pull throughs, but if our fiver was any longer than 33' we would have had to park next to it, not in line. Site was not level, but it wasn't too bad. I'm not sure what level of rainfall they had before we got there, but it was muddy, although not enough to fear getting stuck. Wifi was available, but a little slow. Please note: This is a CASH ONLY establishment. There is an ATM at the convenience store just down the street.

Great overnight stop. We pulled in late one night. We were so surprised the next morning! Wish we had more time to relax at the lake. Plan on going back.

Denise and David are great hosts. It's right off the highway... Easy on and off! Close to historic sites..... There is a civil war reenactment in April close by. Serene and quiet campground. Very clean bathrooms. Reasonably priced with FHU.

This is a small family place. It's clean, close to The highway but far enough for no noise, mostly pull thrus, level, grass and gravel, very solid. I'd come back in a heartbeat. I wish they were all like this one.

| Very Nice Park

By user-5017814... on 2019-08-09.

This is one of the nicest parks we stayed. Park is very well laid out has a lake and picnic tables. The owners are nice and this park is in excellent condition. Also very easy access. Glad we found this park. Wish we had more time to stay here.

| Easy on/off and spacious

We stopped overnight in our 32 foot fifth wheel and had our pick of spots. The park is easy to navigate and the spots are big. The owners are friendly and helpful. If you must travel on I49 (which I never recommend), things is a great place to rest. Very quiet and only a few long term guests who were gone before daylight. We got 17 or 20 OTA channels and had no problems with cell service. The bathroom and laundry are in an older building but very clean. I did not use the shower or wash clothes so I can't speak to that. Overall very worth it for $28.63 with our Good Sam membership.

This is our 2nd time here. Great over night park. Friendly people. Helped us get parked after dark. This park is on our list of places to stay. Pull through was perfect for our 39 foot plus towed .

Spots weren't very level and the ground was a bit soft. Great on/off access to I-49. Worked fine for an overnight stay. We arrived at 2pm and the office was closed, there were instructions listed on what sights to park in for 30amp and 50amp. Cash/check only, with drop box and envelopes to leave your payment, so check-in process, even though a bit odd, worked fine.
