Reviews for Amarillo KOA

| We like it.

Considering they are in a major drought, the park looks good to us. Very friendly, helped get info on tickets for the musical, Texas. Quiet considering airport is close. We like it and have stayed here when we've come to Amarillo.

| Make sure to take advantage of the free limo service

Park itself is in very nice shape. Green grass - clean everything. Dog run is small but real nice. Stayed overnight (as most of the campers did) and will totally stay there again. Take advantage of the free limo service to the Big Texan Steakhouse! No drinking and driving worries there! Camp staff was great and love that golf cart escort to camp site.

| Park is ok - nothing great

Park was full - except for a few tent sites. Sites are very close but we could still maneuver RV even with a tow. I do appreciate the golf cart escort and love the free limo to the Big Texan Steakhouse. We will use this park again when passing through. It's clean and has green space especially over by the tent sites.

The pics on this park is about 10 years old...it's all dirt dusty and no grass anywhere, way over priced still living in the past with the pics.I don't recommend stay here keep pushing on...

| Expensive for what it is

Nice facility. Spots are gravel with gravel drives. Mostly flat. I didn't need to level my rig. The bathrooms haven't been upgraded though in good repair and the usual exceptionally clean KOA condition. The price is really just outta line for what it is. $42 for the night in the middle of winter. But, the bathrooms are clean...

| An OK place to spend the night

It is a nice clean, well kept park with a pool. The restrooms appear to be very new and are some of the nicer showers I have used at an RV park. Very friendly helpful staff. But be aware it is near railroad tracks that get used fairly often and also an airport near by. It seemed like trains went by every hour or two while we were there. The airplane traffic was noticeable but not terrible. I did think the park seemed overpriced for what it is, it cost us $49.00 for a 50 amp spot but then they charged an extra $15 for our 3 children, so it really cost us around $65.00. I will try another place next time.

| Great spot

This is a great park. If you stay in the summer, get a shady back in spot! The pull through sites are in full Texas sun.

| Nice and quiet

Great location, easy to find. Quiet and a great walk area for pets. Easy checkin even after office hours.

Nice place, level spaces. Bathroom shower areas clean but no handicap showers. A lot of train noise. Would stay overnight again.

Nice clean well kept park. Not near the interstate,so traffic noise is not a problem. BUT,it is close to an airport and train tracks. The trains really bothered my wife but they didn't really bother me. It's in the middle of an industrial area, but not really a problem. All amenities worked well. Did not use restrooms or showers. Good for an overnight stay,if the train noise doesn't bother you.

An older park but clean and easy to maneuver a rig with towing. Park has the absolutely friendliest staff I think I've ever encountered. And the golf cart escort to your space is great... He even offered to help us hook up. The spaces are small but there is grass and plenty of room to walk the dogs. Be sure to take advantage of the limo service to the Big Texan. Will stay again .

Very nice and clean park. BUT VERY EXPENSIVE. $50. PER NITE. Others in the area are half that price.

Older KOA and not worth the price. You will be disappointed with the outdated bathrooms and other facilities. Staff was not friendly. We will not stay here again!

I don't know where that last review came from but the bathrooms are spotless and up to date. Friendly staff, cute little store. Cost was $45 non member. Gravel sites not my favorite but again, clean. Trees probably better in summer:)

Good for an over night stay but nothing more. Lots were small, no pool but working in it. Was very hot during the day and very windy at night. Near airport so you have the jet noise. Would recommend for an over night but nothing longer. 45.00 a night was a high for a place to park

| Overnight, nothing more

The campground is totally out in the open, without any privacy. A lot of noise from trains and airplains. The Wi-Fi is available, but definitly not the best quality. There is A playground for the children and the reception looks very nice. The bathrooms are gorgious, but that is the only plus. Booked 2 nights here on our crossover to Dallas, but we regret not staying at our previous KOA in Albequerque.

| Pretty good

We stayed 1 night passing through town. The pool and playground were great for our kids. They are right next to the airport and train tracks close by, but we never heard any of it inside our camper... we keep our fans running on high. Fairly level gravel spots with grass area and picnic tables. We are 40ft with a tow and had no issues. Looks like maybe the area we were in might have been new because it didn t have as many trees and the ones they had planted were smaller compared to the trees at the front. Staff was very friendly.

2nd time we have stayed here. Nice campground and easy off/on to I-40. Only 1 night. Yes, the trains do come by. We are in a Big Rig. The a/c ...and ear plugs help. But very nice people & well worth the stop. Would definitely come back! Nice level sites, too! We didn't do it due to time restraints , but next time will take the van to the steak place.!

We arrived after a 12 hour drive to be escorted to our site well after hours. As always clean bathrooms, room to pull in and not unhook for an easy morning departure. Super nice bathrooms. Someday we will have to try the pool.
