Clean and recently renovated bathroom/bathhouse adjacent to main check in store. Wifi, cable, and full hook ups. Fire ring and picnic table at each site. Mostly wooded. There is an airstrip close by and you are pretty much on I-95. I would probably have been just as well off at the Kings Dominion CG since that's why I went. That and they are $25 a night versus $35 a night at Americamps, and that was with my veteran status discount.
$50.99 for an overnight stay with Good Sam discount. It is a nice park and they offer a free waffle breakfast. It is right off I95 and you can hear traffic but not too bad if you are further back.
There isn't a lot to choose from in the area in Dec. So we stayed here to be close to downtown. It was a pleasant surprise given the area. Its a little peice of wilderness in an industrial area. The facilities are nice and clean and staff is friendly and helpful. Its a bit pricey, but they have good wifi, 70 cable channels, and in the summer I'm sure the amenities are all wonderful. Its close to 95, so if your in the front of the park you well hear rd noise, but that doesn't bother me, and if you know in advance you could request the rear area of the park. They have a nice dog park too! Oh and did I mention free waffle breakfast in the morning?
Right off 95, this is a good stop. Most spots are pull through and level, but there is no privacy. There is a friendly microbrewery next door.
Very nice campground and wonderful staff. We were here for the NASCAR Richmond Fall race and had a good experience. Even when we had a problem of our own making, the staff bent over backwards to help us out. We were in the only really unshaded area of the park, but even that was fine for the Fall weather. Clean, very big rig friendly, great wi-fi. I would come back here.
Very nice campground! Prrfectovernight pitstop when traveling the eastcoast. The highway traffic was a bit loud at night but the "center of the universe brewery" right next store put this place at the top of our list! Also very nice barhroom facilities with granite counters! Pleasent surroundings!
Nice little place. Almost completely shaded. Apparently is very dog friendly as we saw close to a dozen dogs. Free waffles in the mornings!!! Clean, air conditioned restooms/showers, and laundry room.
We have stayed here several times over the past few years & have always enjoyed our stay. The park itself is clean & nice. Mostly shaded sites. Not a large pool but is also kept clean. Waffles in the morning are great!! Even if we were planning to go to KD we would definitely stay here, its not far up the road. Probably one of the best things about this park is the staff. We've never dealt with anyone here that didn’t come across as being happy to help. All have been happy, helpful, & very professional. We look forward to spending a few days here on our next trip through the area.
There just isn't much to choose from in this area. This Campground is convenient to I-95. So convenient that we could watch the traffic from our campsite. It is Friday evening and there is some kind of outdoor karaoke bar across the street from the campgrounds. If you are looking for a place to park for the night and don't mind the highway and the karaoke noise, this place might be for you. My wife might start speaking to me again in a few days. In fairness to the campgrounds, they have a convenient online registration facility. The staff have been very friendly and courteous. The campsites are not bad. WiFi is available but very slow. TV cable is available with many snowy channels -- we just used our antenna. Restrooms are relatively clean but the stalls are too small for the doors. It is very difficult to close the door when you are in one. The bottom line for us is that we are very disappointed. I gave it 3 stars for convenience and being a port in the storm ... there is nothing comparable in the area. If not for being too close to the highway and the outdoor off grounds party noise, it would get 4 stars. Location is the plus and the minus for this campground.
Used as only as a place to sleep on our way to Florida. Got there after hours but owner stayed to check us in. Pull through site right inside gate. Campground was spotless. Put us in site close to bathrooms, and very easy for us to leave early in morning. Will certainly will stay here again.
Very nice park, staff excellent, sites shaded & level, acorns bouncing off roof sound like bullets.. restrooms were clean, no hot water and pressure was lousy...
Clean, convenient, nice accommodating staff with free breakfast. But right off IT means relentless traffic noise. I can watch the cars go by from my campsite too!
Not sure if I should give a 3 or 4 star review. The grounds are very clean, a lot of nice amenities, the spaces are level and nice size. The dog park is a great plus since we show dogs and travel with several. The downside is the LOUD interstate that is so close you can watch the semis go by. I will stay here again but only if traveling to dog shows. This is not a good place for peace and quiet.
The staff is so welcoming, and the sites are just fine. The pool is very nice, and so is the gym + the showers. Thursday night was dinner-night, great way to meet fellow travelers. Also free waffles for breakfast every morning. Lots of space, good Wi-Fi, channels and more. Great stay, would stay here again!
Stopped by to use their rv dump. The friendliest staff and beautiful location! I wish I didn t live so close otherwise I would have stayed over night!
Stayed for two nights after picking up our new Grand design 5th wheel. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or nice. Had a pull through spot so easy to park. A surprise bonus for us was the brewery " center of the universe" was right across the street. Also free breakfast and dinner one night. Walked for a good beer and some food. Only negative was the proximity to the freeway. Traffic noise is considerable while outside.
We have stayed here 3 times now and would definitely recommend it. Workers are friendly, sites are spacious. Nice dog run and playground. Decent WiFi and 75ish cable channels. Two of the three times we ve stayed there we ve gotten either a free meal or ice cream. It is just off 95 so it is definitely loud so pack your ear plugs.
Chose this park based on other RV Parky reviews. Older park so little more cramped than some but we havent felt crowded at all. Mostly pull thus. Its adjacent to I-95 so there is some road noise but it hasn't disturbed us. Outstanding customer service, beautiful landscaping, beautiful pool, great dog park, free continental breakfast, fitness center, well stocked store and nice updated bathrooms. Easy 20 minute drive to the historic sights/museums in downtown Richmond. Very convenient to Walmart, restaurants etc. Our site - E28 - has lovely shade too. Will definitely stay again.
Needed a one night stop near I95 and RVA. Large level sites with ample shade trees, plenty of space. Close to amenities. Yes, highway noise. Also, bird noise and ample squirrels. Will stop there again.
