Convenient to interstate, not too bad (7 to 15 miles) to historical triangle locations. Clean, well kept and quiet. Good cable, excellent WIFI, never experienced access or speed limitations. Careful when approaching entrance, if and RV is coming out, someone has to back up or unhook; trees limit visibility at entrance.
So I'll start by saying that if I were an able body person, I would give this park 5 stars. The negitives, I'm in a wheelchair, I can't even get in the office or the bath house. The only building I could get in was the laundry room. Seems ridiculous when they have paid tons of money to pave all the spots and roads in the park, but cant even make the office or bathhouse accessible. The park is really nice though! Wifi is good, lanscaping is great. They dont have grills which seems strange too. The sites are a little tight and so are the roads. Be careful of where you park, sap fell all over my truck and I'm sure its on the awning too. This is a really nice park but the accessibility is horrible. Unacceptable.
+1 to other 4* reviews. Park is nice and staff very helpful. Downside is very small sites, very close together and not much room to maneuver but park is full of big rigs. We were in 35 ft motorhome.
We have a 42' 5th wheel and the site was barely big enough for the camper we parked the truck in the grass (against the rules) because the site wasn't big enough for both to fit. They do offer additional parking near the tent area but is too far to walk especially in the rain. We couldn't let the awning out because the tree was too close. Getting in and out was a bit challenging due to narrow roads but was manageable. Overall it is a very well maintained park and is close to Williamsburg and Jamestown. Would stay here again if we maybe got an end site that allowed a little more room.
Very nice park but concerned when we were put all the way in the back with no shade and no WiFi access (even though it says free access). When I asked to move 3 times during stay, was told no available spots even though I saw several spots closer that stayed empty the entire time???
Close to Colonial Williamsburg, but away from the crowds. Well run campground and very clean.
Great campground, before i came from Pittsburgh, I was concerned about it being tight to manuver because of some of the reviews here. Not true just about all the sites are pull through and not tight to manuver. We stayed in site 103 with a 43 foot toy hauler pulled by a short bed dually. We will be back
Great campground except sites are too close together. The way they're set up your patio is right next to the neighbors. Laundry was fine but way at the front of the park so a long hike when doing multiple loads. Baths were excellent!
We checked in today 6/10 and handed the girl my good Sam's card and she said " no good Sam's on weekly rates " would've been nice to disclose this on ur website. It just says no discount on cabins and park models. Other than this the place is nice and clean and good level spots. The staff that we have meet so far have been friendly
Our go to RV park in Williamsburg. Paved roads, concrete level pads w/patio area. Sites are close together and the roads are tight. Shaded in the front, older sites, newer sites in the rear of the park have little shade. Bath house clean. Staff very nice. Commuter train runs one-two miles away. Can hear infrequently during the day. Quiet at night. Within 10 miles of Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center. 1 mile from Rte 60 (Richmond Rd) which has many shops traveling into Williamsburg.
It is very quiet here. Even the kids at the pool were quieter than most other places. Don't get me wrong, we all had fun. The WiFi is the best I've. Seen at a campground. Very strong everywhere in the park. The bath house was clean and roomy. The staff were very friendly. Some complaints are: very tight getting in there. The road is very narrow and thankfully, very short. The "Hippo" water slide was extra. The staff was friendly, but very sparse. Overall, we would return and enjoy another stay.
Friendly staff. Quiet. Far enough from road noise but convient. Camp roads could be wider but manageable with 40 ft fifth wheel and truck. Nice trees on sites. They have large water slide for kids.
The facilities were excellent and the staff was friendly and very helpful. We stayed in a premium site. It was very nice. The park has many pull through sites and is close to everything. The site was expensive at $89 a night with the tax. The roads are tight but doable. If it wasn't for that I would give it 5 stars.
The staff are wonderful. Beautiful setting. Nicely maintained. Great fenced dog park.
Decent place to stay to visit Colonial Wmsburg & surrounding area. The front section appears tight, but a lot of sites have shade. Some are pull-thru & some are back-in. Our 50 amp, pull-thru, level, FHU site was in the back section. The trees are small, so no shade. I'm guessing this section is newer, so as the trees grow, hopefully, they'll produce some shade. The sites are spacious, and the way they are staggered is nice. They are concrete with a concrete pad. There is room for 1 vehicle. There is an overflow parking lot for an extra vehicle, which we had. Friendly, easy check-in. There is a nice pool and a water slide (fee). The putt-putt didn't look usable - we didn't ask. Excellent WIFI & good cable. Easily accessible from I-64. We would stay here again if in the area. We stayed in a 40' motorhome.
Overall I give it 5 stars, they say check in at 2 don’t show up early, the office will be locked and no one around. After checking in it was excellent!!!
We reserved a premium site months in advance and when we arrived our patio with chairs was on the drivers side along with your hookups. You would not be able to walk out the door and enjoy your patio. Bummer... the roads are extremely tight to navigate a big rig and the sites were way too close together. The staff were very friendly but I will look elsewhere when we go back for another visit to Williamsburg!
We stay here whenever we visit the area. Always well kept and the management is friendly and professional. Sites are clean, level, and pretty. It's quite like we like. Nice hiking / nature trails around the park perimeter. Our two dogs also like this park
We stay here often and love the wooded sites towards the front. The sites in the back are newer and very nice with fire pits and gazebos! Unfortunately there is no shade. All the sites are on the larger side of average. The premium sites have a nice little landscape wall, concrete patio, with a nice table and chairs and fire pit.
Stayed at American Heritage for one week and really liked it! We paid a bit extra for a premium site (patio set and fireplace with nice landscaping) but liked that all sites were concrete pad and patio. Very clean and quiet sites are a good size and easy to get in and out of.
We recently stayed in a premium site with the patio. The people around us nice and friendly. It was quiet even with plenty of pets around. People handled them well. It was our first trip with a new puppy and he loved camping. Though I agree the location of patio was on the wrong side and the patio set was rickety, I was still happy we got it.
Very nice CG, very friendly staff, definitely recommend this one, also very quiet.
