| Bad stop for us

By user-6633621... on 2017-10-23.

We are travelling in a 38 ft motor home pulling a small car. Bad signage. Missed the welcome center and had to turn around. By the time we got there It had closed at 4:30. We scraped going in and then out. Tried to get to San Pedro camping but again bad signage and ended up at the end of a dead end road and with great difficulty managed to turn around without unhooking. By that time we were so fed up and stressed that when we saw the tight turn onto a dirt road that supposedly led to the campground we decided to pass. :(

Long way to go for much of nothing. Lake bed appeared to be near edge of camp grounds at one time, but drought had left nothing but puddles. There are two camp grounds in this park, however the one located near the bridge was a very tight one lane in and out, even for our very small 23' with nothing in tow. Lots of old trees with low canopy to easily scrap your RV. The other location (nearer the dried lake) was very open, little vegetation and blowing trash cans.

| Spur 406 Review

This park needs to be separated out into the at least six different areas they have for camping. Here is my review for Spur 6: Forget it with an RV unless it’s tiny. It’s 5 miles back. Get a nice picnic table and shelter. No services. Boat ramp closed (flooded over) when we came by. Hard to turn around. Don’t take your rig past the six camp sites-the bushes are way overgrown into the road and you’ll scrap up your rig. Dead ends into the water with no turn around.
