It's right at the park entrance. Very dusty here, no trees at the top loop of sites. Very long walk to the single bathroom for all these campers, although there are a couple of Porto Johns halfway between our sites and the real bathrooms. (shows mgt knows its too far) The bathroom is clean, good showers with signs about only taking 5 minute showers to save water, unfortunately they don't make it easy to turn off the water while lathering due to the the dual fixtures they used. But the shower head is in the ceiling, so even tall folks can wash their hair without squatting like lots of other CG's. There is a dirt road about 50 feet west of the park where a constant stream of large trucks and cars speed past raising a cloud of dust over and over. If the wind is coming from the west which it was when we were there, you will need to wash your coach when you leave. There is really no grass for you pets, but the ground has a lot of green. And you will be constantly pulling off the stickers (round burrs) that make up everything that is green there. One of the park employees mentioned to my wife they found Chiggers and they were cutting the "stickers" way back due to that. I have no idea what Chiggers are, and I don't really want to google them to find out. There is good water pressure, 50 amp and sewers. The WiFi is Tangonet, only worked for a few hours the first day and not for the other three days of our stay. The other campers around me mentioned the same issue. The logon page would not come up. On check in I was told the WiFi was new. I think i will start asking prior to making reservations whether a campground uses tangonet and move on if they do. Tangonet appears to mean "No WiFi" from my recent experiences at two parks. T-mobile hotspot works here, but our AT&T hotspot was fairly useless. Ending on a positive note, it was extremely close to the park!
Great campground, reasonable, very clean bathrooms with free showers Hot tubs, pool and a beatiful view of the mesa and mountains.
Very relaxing, super clean (loved the shower heads in the ceiling), kids had a blast at the pool and playing mini golf. Spots were a little close, but everyone was friendly. One of the best parks we have stayed at. Can't stress how clean and organized the park was. Extremely convenient to Mesa Verde.
This is a VERY nice RV park and really close to Mesa Verde. Friendly staff, clean restrooms and very clean park with a lot of extras. Stayed 2 nights and loved it.
Great location -big spots-very clean
We arrived early and were offered a vacant site. Construction activity near the campground covered our RV and tow vehicle in dust quickly. Other campers mentioned it became really bad when the wind was blowing in the wrong direction. Our site had absolutely no wifi, cell or data service. The owner claimed ignorance about the dust and internet problems. She offered to move us to another site, but we decided to cut our stay short instead and find something better. We were charged both a cancellation fee and an early arrival fee. The latter we were never told about. When we asked if we could rinse the dust off of our car from the construction traffic we were told "no" because the soil wouldn't soak up the water. There was, however, green grass with no noticeable standing water, so we assume that water could penetrate the ground. The only positive is it's location near Mesa Verde, but there are other options and we would encourage others to investigate these options before settling on Ancient Cedars.
Great park, we stayed here for a week in a 40 ft motorhome plenty of room for a pull thru. Great new owners, making daily improvements . Wonderful views
Perfect location directly across from Mesa Verde. Clean, level, people nice. They have a great fenced dog park. Must be at least an acre. Dog park is why we picked this place. Clean.
We spent five nights at Ancient Cedars and really enjoyed it. The best thing about this campground is the location. It's right across the highway from the Visitors Center for the National Park. The scenery of the mesa is absolutely beautiful from the campground. We stayed in one of the big rig pull-through sites and it was plenty big enough for our 40' 5er, our tow vehicle and car. The hosts were very friendly, even coming to our rig to let us know there was a real life cattle drive taking place outside the gate so we could come watch. It was too cold in late April to use all the facilities but the laundry room was very clean. We would definitely stay at Ancient Cedars again if we were in this area.
New name is Ancient Cedars! Great place! Hosts are fantastic! Directly across from Mesa Verde National Park entrance!
This is a family owned resort (not a national chain) and the owners made me feel as though I was part of the family. Everything from helping me with my motorhome to inviting me to dinner twice during my stay (2 weeks, then came back for a month because I felt so comfortable). The personal touch applied by Dale and Carol and their helpers(Bud and Gary) made my stay VERY enjoyable! It was the perfect place to reunite with my brother after not seeing him for 10 years. The amenities of this resort are TOP NOTCH and spotless! Visitors to this park that DO NOT TRY bending/breaking the rules for their own benefit will TOTALLY ENJOY their stay here. I WILL RETURN! Thanks for everything Ancient Cedars
Stayed 2 nights very clean
Nice, quiet, clean family campground. You can’t get any closer to Mesa Verde National Park unless you stayed in it. Loved it, highly recommend it!
This is the first campground I’m reviewing and only because they really earned it. Great location, really clean showers and bathrooms, and super friendly staff. One gentleman in particular who works there was extremely helpful and obviously loves the area and is happy to share what he knows about it.
Nice park, fairly level gravel sites. Clean bath house. They have a no outside lights night policy which allows for great star viewing. Note: when approaching from cortez be sure to take the mesa Verde exit then turn left. Otherwise you will have to reverse course soon after. GS disc
Fantastic quiet nice place to relax and discover SW Colorado! The staff was AWESOME! Friendly and helpful. Our last day there we ended up having trouble with our truck and had to run into Durango Colorado to the dealership for repairs. The staff was really great about oir having to stay over the check out time. We will be back!!!!!! Highly recommended!!!
Very recommended, in front of the entrance to mesa verde
Wow Great Place to Stay Very Helpful Staff Great Laundry Room

Back row site, pull thru, 50 amp all hookups worked great. WiFi fairly decent, best in mornings worst in afternoon. No AT&T cell service here.
Close to Mesa verde park. Easy pull in site
