Used on easter weekend. Very nice and quiet. Of course to early in season for pool or putt-putt to be open. Arrived in pouring rain and the person in the space offered to help me set up.
Tried to stay for just one night. On the phone they said office was closed just pick a spot. When we pulled in it looked like the office was open so my husband pulled over while I checked. There was a woman standing there with a KOA shirt on so I asked her and she very meanly said I guess it is now. Then my husband who was trying to get our very large vehicle out of the way went about 2 feet over the stop here sign. She started screaming (and I do mean scraming) at my husband to stop and that he caused a traffic jam (he was 2 feet over the line and there was one truck who could have gotten around us, they were just being courteous). She was the rudest person I've ever seen at a campground and we travel full time. We didn't stay there but she turned us around thru the campground and the sites did not look very nice anyway, very cramped and dusty.
We had another great stay. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We had trailer brake trouble and Jay (one of the staff) was every helpful. He even let us hook up to his trailer to see if the problem was with our truck. We will be back in June and look forward to returning.
Located amoung tall southern loblolly pines in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, our campground is a gateway to a host of nearby treats. Your family might enjoy Stumphouse Tunnel and nearby Issaqueena Falls or whitewater rafting on the river made famous in the movie Deliverance. Take a picnic lunch and go lake swimming at a recreation area or rent a pontoon boat on nearby Hartwell Lake. Explore the Jockey Lot, known as the South's largest flea market, or visit the town of Pendleton - the entire town is on the National Register of Historic Places. Take a scenic drive on a highway that follows old Cherokee footpaths, visit beautiful Clemson University just 15 miles away, and stop in to see the South Carolina Botanical Garden. Try your best at one of several challenging golf courses or go for a hole-in-one at the KOA's mini golf course. Maybe you'll find long-lost relatives through your genealogy searches in nearby libraries or history museums.
