This is a fantastic CG next to a beautiful lake. Very pretty and relaxing. A fair number of (semi) permanent units, but still lots of spaces for overnighters.
Beautiful surroundings with lake and trees. Quiet. Folks were nice at check-in. Good value for the fee.
All the five star reviews are correct. Glad we stayed here. Too bad it was just for one night.
This is a beautiful municipal campground just off of I57 in southern Illinois near the I24 junction. Very fair prices, shower house, laundry, general store, 50 amp, good cell signal, water, some sewer, dump station, plenty of TV by antenna, fire rings, running trail,fishing, boating, playgrounds, lots of open space. Big, big sites next to a beautiful lake. This campground is in that category of great interstate access and great camping amenities. I give a lot of credit to the City leadership of Johnston City for operating such a wonderful facility.
Awesome camping! Cute lake, couldn't ask for anything more! Will be making it a must stop both ways!
Our first time there our son got hurt on the campground property and had to have 8 stitches, they came over immediately and checked in with us gave us all the important information and after the hospital visit they came back by a few times to see how he was doing. Fortunately he was fine and we enjoyed the rest of our trip and have been back several times and love the place and the people! They are so kind and welcoming!!
This is a hidden gem of a campground. Beautiful area, nicely kept, friendly people. I wish we could have stayed longer than a quick overnight stay. It is near I57, and the route to the campground is clearly marked with signs. Oh, and the rates are extremely reasonable. This is the best RV park we’ve come across in our travels in a very long time.
