Reviews for Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground

| Update to my review

By user-6238113... on 2017-10-23.

Forgot to mention that the large pull thrus are facing the highway and about 25 feet from it, you get to see cars etc rushing by..also my wife went to use the pool, asked if she could move the rope barrier in the pool seeing as no one was in it and she wanted to do laps...older man at desk curtly told her the rope stays there....when she mentioned the pool looked a little dirty, leaves and algae , he replied , maybe you should go to the "Y".....

| Old park with very small lots

By user-5808098... on 2017-10-23.

This park is old, the lots are very close together, with tight turns. The few pull-thru sites they have are right up to a busy. Most sites are back-in. We never got the cable to work, and heard other complaints about this also. Convenient location to see the beauty of the Asheville area.

| DO NOT PICK THIS PARK!

By user-5842076... on 2017-10-23.

I made a reservation to stay in this park for two days, prepaid October 23 and 24th. Possibly staying a third day. I also called the morning of the 23rd to reconfirm and they did. We were traveling in our 40 ft motor home with a tow. I requested a pull through site and was assured that we would have one. We arrived at 4 pm and we're ready to check in and relax after a long day. I could not believe the office had no record of my guaranteed (with credit card) reservation. We were in the position of searching for an rv park at the last moment on a Saturday night. Additionally, for a big rig like our rv, this is not a easy park to navigate. Streets are narrow, sites are narrow. Irene

| Too much

By user-6211119... on 2017-10-23.

Over priced compared to rival parks around the country.

| Decent

Clean and quiet, but the Internet is nonexistent.

| It was fine

We stayed 2 nights. Spots a little small but we weren't there much except to sleep. We enjoyed that we could use Uber to go to and from downtown. Asheville is a pretty cool town.

This is a very nice place to camp close to highway to go to Asheville. The showers could use some improvement heater kicks off and light will shut off if you take to long. We stayed there last year and we are going to stay there this year in December to visit family.

| Convenient to all attractions, but everything closes at 5pm

By user-5818824... on 2017-10-23.

Clean facilities, staff very pleasant and helpful. Just stayed for 2 nights and was able to uber to both Biltmore and downtown for a reasonable cost for each. We were surprised that everything closed at the campground at 5pm sharp. The office, the pool, the store and the ice machine. Once we knew it was not an issue. We were down below in a pull through spot and had plenty of room. there was road noise, but was not a huge bother. I would rate it 3.5 stars, but not an option.

| Ok for a quick nite

By user-6238113... on 2017-10-23.

Park is old, narrow roads. Big rig sites were an afterthought. If you are towing, be prepared to unhook or have a long water and sewer hose. Staff pleasant, easy on and off the highway but road in is very narrow for a class A. Thought $45 was a bit much for this campground...certainly not the ratings GoodSam gives it.

| No complaints

Perfect, close to West Asheville & downtown. Great place to park and see the sights. Good WiFi, great staff.

| A good CG

By user-5289026... on 2017-10-23.

Roads are paved as are sites and sites are level. It's location is close to downtown Asheville but also surrounded by major roads. Some parts of the CG have more road noise than others but our unit keeps the noise checked. Facilities are clean but dated and are ok. Staff helpful and friendly. Love being so close to what Asheville offers. Have stayed here in the past and will continue to do so. Feel very safe here.

| Ok for the money

By user-5783304... on 2017-10-23.

Stayed 4 nights. Never did get the cable to work. Staff said they checked the connection and it was working. We followed their directions to the 't'. Not rocket science and we have never had problems in the past. Park has a lot of road noise and spots are tight for large rigs. The turn into park comes up fast and is on a blind curve so be careful when entering park. We've stayed at Wilsons in the past and would stay at this park again over the other. Wifi worked well as did 30 amp, water and sewer.

| Our Family Visit Place

By user-5891111... on 2017-10-23.

We stay here when visiting our Son and DIL. We like the convenience to the highways, easy shopping in West Asheville up the road, and nice folks. Easy in and out to most sites. Full service and good Wi-Fi.

| Too bad - could have been enjoyable!

Stay away from the Sites in the 40’s. Very tight quarters and typically parked next to long timers. I could hear my neighbor cough at night. Also lots of highway traffic noise. Some sites looked nice. Campground is close to Biltmore Estate and Downtown. 1 star for that. $45 per night discounted ? WY overpriced!

A great stop in Asheville! Close to downtown and attractions. Great staff, wide selection of sites for everyone's needs, clean restrooms. A Great stop in to visit Asheville.

Sites in 40s have many long term RVers and are very close to each other. Right next to hwy too, lots of road noise. Great cable TV. Never got WiFi to work. No place for a fire. You are right next to your neighbor. Smelled their cigarette smoke. Pool was clean, bathrooms were clean. This is a great place to stay if you want to see and experience Ashville. Safe, secure and no gate so you can come in late after town nightlife. Very easy access to East Ashville, breweries, Pisgah. We would stay there again for that reason. We had sewer hook up for first time, that was nice.

| It s a place to park but that s it.

If you travel in a 45 footer 13.5 plus tall coach don t waste your time. Yes you can get the rig in but the trees along the main road in are not trimmed and will scuff your coach. Perhaps if you arrive when there is no traffic and you can take the entire road then ok. If not you have been warned. Lots are very small, Lots and lots of road noise if your in a pull through in fact your nose faces the two lane road. We won t be back for any reason unless we are in a tent. I strongly no not recommend

Super convenient but not impressed mainly because of freeway noise but also cramped quarters. It is super convenient to Biltmore & downtown. Wish I had more time in Asheville and not been too tired to go to Lake Powhatan just down the road.

| Great location

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.

We have stayed at Bear Creek many times and usually stay at least 3 weeks. We love the location as it s 5 miles from our daughter. It is old and chopped up, but the location is fantastic, close to Biltmore, downtown, farmers market, shopping and most of the Asheville attractions. Not level for walking the dog, but not much is level in Asheville. Most of the lots are narrow. We arrive from the north in February which means the motor home is a mess from the snow and salted roads. They absolutely will not allow washing the RV, but a professional can come in and wash it if you re willing to part with big bucks. During the many times we have stayed there we have witnessed several people damage their motor home trying to park.

Older site. Paved slots. No good cable. Has sewer. Wouldn't recommend laundry. Overall pretty nice place. We will stay again.
