The people here are very friendly and helpful. The campground is beautiful. It has a lake, pond with ducks and swimming pool. All the sits are nice and flat. If we come this way again, we will definitely be back.
The good: very nice owner. Until politics come out of her mouth. People should know better to not mix business and political commentary. Very beautiful campgrounds, quiet, The bad: Bathroom ceiling coming apart, wasps inside, needs some Maintance. Advertises as 24 something a night based on 2 adults two children but when she hands you the brochure it says the two people must be husband and wife. I assume that means she will charge unmarried or gay couples 5.00 more. Best friends traveling...more....daughter and father...more. Cash or Check only!
Our family stayed at Askew 's for one night while we were just driving through. The people were friendly and the sites were nice and spacious. There's a nice pool and a lake for fishing. They also have a small petting zoo which the kids enjoyed. The only down fall that we saw was that the bath houses needed updating and were not climate controlled. This was a fun family place and it would have been nice to have more than one day there.
Just E. of Jackson, Exit 19, Edwards - jewel in the rough! Down a quiet country rd. away from freeway noise, nice overnight stop. Old farm family campground - easy pull thru sites, full 50amp hookups. On a grassy field, soggy if rains, could use some graveling. Funky old bathhouse (w/modern RV set up not used much). Nice, accommodating owners live on property.
Large duck pond and open grassy sites. But 2 miles down bumpy road the last half mile dusty dirt. Your toad will be a mess. They put us in the long term ghetto even tho there were plenty of other sites.
Wife and i come down from iowa to see the sites. Wonderful people and great campground. So enjoy. Tt
Friendly atmosphere. Owners were welcoming. We had a nice shady pull-through under a tree. Pool is a nice escape from the heat. The lake road is quiet and the country road leading in/out is a nice stroll past horse pastures. Grounds are well-kept but the bathrooms/showers are not treated with respect by many long term campers. They are run-down and dirty. Even the new bath/shower units are quickly going downhill. Close to Vicksburg and Jackson. Traveling to/from is easy.
Owners very accommodating. But no bathrooms, weak wifi, no cable and very tight spaces make this an ok overnight but not longer.
Great place. very clean . Beautiful lake I would stay again.
Full of fulltimers who clearly have a little community going on. The bathrooms are worn out and everything is a bit... off. Wouldn't stay again.
All around nice quiet park. Only downside is really rough road getting there. Employees very hospitable and rates are reasonable.
