| Not Worth the Price They Charge

By user-5290826... on 2017-10-23.

We've stayed here on a few occasions. I really want to like this one since it's the closest KOA to home so it would be a quick weekend getaway. However, there are very limited full hookup sites and they charge a crazy premium if you get one. $50 a night for such a basic campground is a bit nuts. On top of that they charge $8 a night for a "RFT" for the "privilege" of reserving online at koa.com. So now you are at $58 a night. The kicker is that they separate out the RFT charge so you can't get your 10% off of that portion as a KOA value card holder. I've stayed at 9 out of the 14 KOAs in the lower peninsula and another 3 KOAs outside of Michigan and none of them charged this extra fee. So for much less than they charge I can head the other direction from home and stay at a KOA resort with a ton more to do. Of the 12 KOAs we've stayed at, there are only 2 that were worse than this one. One was in Valdosta Georgia (now out of business) and the other is the Higgins Lake KOA.

| Not well maintained

Weeds everywhere. Bounce houses dirty, full of mud. Cabins in need of painting. Pool was closed for upgrading but it would have been nice to know this before arrival or booking

| Trash Dump

The smell from the trash dump next door was horable. Had to pack up and move on.
