Nice park however, no sewer hookup and WiFi costs extra this makes it a tad expensive sadly
I spent an overnight at this campground recently, and recommend it highly. It was very well kept, with new, clean bathrooms with separate private shower rooms (you do need 3 quarters for the shower). It's a couple of miles off the interstate, and was very quiet. There are a number of well-maintained seasonal units, and there were just a couple of other short-term campers on the weeknight I was there. The manager was friendly and efficient, and they also have a small store. If I'm passing through this way again, I will definitely use this campground again.
We stopped one night on our way out west. Campground was quite clean, quiet, well kept, owners were friendly. A bit of a diamond in the rough. A nice walk around the full campground for me & my dog. Might stop again on our way home.
We stayed at Badgerland for eight nights and will definitely be back again soon. From the easy check-in with a guided escort to our site, to the cleanest dump station as we departed, a top notch campground. You will be hard pressed to find a cleaner and well kept campground. Our first site was not very level, and we didn t have anything to use to level. The staff moved us to a site using their Bobcat! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Enjoy the peace and quiet during the week! Even the weekend was relatively quiet.
Badgerland at first glance is quaint with lots of green grass and trees. There are several seasonal residents here and the grounds are well maintained. The CG is on the south side of Madison and is easily reached in just 10 minutes of so south of town. It is in the woods so if you feel you need civilization; you might want to go elsewhere. When we arrived on a Sunday, there was no one at the office but they require full payment 2 weeks before arrival. I see why now as you have to find your own spot if the office is closed so pay attention. There are no sewer hookups at the sites only electric and water so come empty or be prepared to break camp and go the dump station on site. There is a mobile pumping service which is an extra $15 or so. There is no cable TV and our local connections were patchy too. There is also no high speed internet and for what there is it cost an extra $5 per day. Overall the campground is pleasant and a little rustic. I will take full responsibility for not checking closer but it seems to me that the owners (new ones in March 2019) should make it more clear that you should dump your tanks prior to setting up, that there is poor internet for an additional fee and that there is no cable TV. These facts would have affected my decision to stay at Badgerland so buyer beware.
Nice campground, friendly staff.
