Reviews for Badlands National Park Cedar Pass Campground

| Outstanding Views

The view from this campground is spectacular. The campground itself is average and kinda oddly laid out with only pull off sites right on the main drive. I'd stay again for the great view alone.

| Prices have been jacked up to ridiculous levels.

I'm giving 3 stars just for the view. However, the sites are weird, you basically just pull over to the side of the road, and since it's one way, you have a 50/50 chance of having your door face the road or your picnic table. And everyone driving along is 3 feet from your rig. The prices......ouch. 21.20 for a tent/no hookup site, or $37! for electric only! And then, you have to pay for a shower!! Wow. After one night I moved down to the Badlands Interior Campground....just 2 miles down the road with nice views as well, and paid $25 for an electric site. And you have fire rings and can have a fire there.

Electric hookups on wrong side of rig, water not convenient, paid $25.00 a night after senior discount. Won't stay here again. Only good thing is the scenery.

| WOW.....

The view alone is worth the effort to get here! Park was exceptionally clean. Pretty quiet for the amount of people; we stayed in mid September and the park was pretty much full everyday. "Pull-off" sites were different, but seemed to work ok. Bathrooms were....I've seen worse. Lodge dining with convenience store was easy walking distance. Ate there one night, the food and service was good and extremely well priced! The 8:00 Star Gazing program was one of the most impressive Park Programs I have ever attended. We will definitely stay here again!!!!

After a day of driving we were pleased to find a place here. You have stunning views of the rugged hills, and when the sun goes down the shadows change from minute to minute. It can be windy, but hey, you are on the prairie. The park was clean and well-maintained.

Sites are slightly wider spots in the road, seems pricey for what you get.

| One night stay

We stayed here for the night. It s very grassy in spots. We had an out loop spot and it was nice. Tight spaces and most all are pull through. It worked for us and we d def stay again. Close to visitor center and lodge.

| Park awesome, campground not awesome

By user-6294965... on 2019-08-09.

All pull thurs and made for old rigs with no slides. When slides are deployed large rigs can't drive between . stay elsewhere. Park had awesome picture oppertunities. Will come back but not stay.

| A bit cool in June -51 degrees at 7am

Beautiful views- pretty quiet- even with a lot of families with kids. We had a nice site of the outer ring. 1st time to the badlands and I booked it 6 months ago.

| Beautiful setting, internet is solid.

What can you say? The Badlands as your backdrop, the wind off the plains, the sound of my generator running- oh yeah- sorry about that. We *thought* we booked an electric site, but alas- we got a no-hookup site in the Butte Loop. We were able to run our generator to get by. The staff was nice enough. The campground has showers in the other loop- $.50 for 4 minutes, $.25 for each additional 2 minutes up to 15 quarters. Pretty clean. The changer was out of service (so was the soda machine), so I would jut bring quarters to be sure. A stick's throw from the Ben Reifel Visitor's Center. A SLEW of stickers and magnets- get them from there. A nice video about the Badlands, exhibits, and a fossil lab that my 5 year old really dug. A bit spendy for no hookups, but we still would go again.

| Slideouts & superglide hitch: look elsewhere

By user-6667673... on 2019-08-09.

If you are RV camping, do your homework before reserving here. All the sites are on turnouts, so verify on map where your slides will go! Ours would have extended into traffic. The site we paid for was so steeply sloped, we weren't able to level our fifth wheel, so we had to leave. Park staff (concession) were helpful enough to recommend another park near I-90, but were utterly unconcerned with the fact that their park couldn't accommodate us. No refund.

| Wretched, filthy bathrooms

By user-5640156... on 2019-08-09.

We chose this campground because of it s close proximity to the Badlands and also were pleased to see it was a Good Sam park. I will never stay here again as the bathrooms/showers are no better than your worst gas station bathroom. No locks on the stall doors... main door wide open - no screen door, bugs EVERYWHERE, counter area and sink are FILLED with bugs and the showers are bug infested dead & alive.
