| Great little affordable escape

We just stayed here over the weekend and other than it not having any type of shade, it was a very nice relaxing getaway! Clint was super friendly and very busy making sure everything was clean and working properly. The first night we got there, a large group wanted to party loudly into the early hours, but he shut them down rather quickly when called. Nice, clean restrooms and showers. Coyotes can be heard at night from the nearby reserve, but just put your food away and you'll be just fine and they won't bother you! We would definitely stay here again, mostly for the service, but it looks as if it is being updated all the time with fresh, new things.....Internet was pretty good too! Bring your pop-up shade tent but be prepared for wind-so anchor it down well!!

We called last-minute and got a spot easily with full hookups. $40 with all club or senior/military/teacher etc. discount of $5. He took us to our spot. All gravel and no trees. Bathrooms and showerhouse were clean and new in an almost finished state. They had music playing in the building, which was nice. Looks like they are building a laundry room, but that wasn't available yet. Good stop. Close to Great Sand Dunes National Monument, 7miles east of Alamosa on 160.

| Convenient Location

The campground is well groomed, with new bath house being built. Owners are fantastic. The campground WiFi is the best I’ve seen. Owner was a former IT manager. Trees are new so it’ll be a very nice place in a couple of years. Location is close to all the local attractions (Sand Dunes, Zapata Falls, Mosca Trail, Alamosa, etc). Campsites are nice and wide and can accommodate any rig out there.

New campground with the best "private room" showers and bathroom. They are huge. 10% discount ($40.50+tax) for Seniors, AAA, Good Sams, Military! The owners are some of the nicest people going. All sites are level and fully equipped. And, yes, the WiFi actually works. Grandkids watched a cartoon on it!

Can't give it 5 stars yet. No trees yet. However clean and newer RV park next to 160 also a negative.

| Would definitely stay here again

As other reviewers have noted, the owners could not be nicer. The sites are very spacious (and level) which is a big plus considering so many RV parks you end up parking almost on top of each other. Personally, I like that it is outside of town since it allows you to see the stars so clearly. Even though it is on 160 we did not notice any road noise. The shower house with the private shower rooms is very nice. I thought the music and the monitor with local information was a nice touch. No doubt Base Camp will be at the top of our list the next time we are in Alamosa.

| Not much more than a parking lot

This RV park is convenient to visit great Sandune s national Park. Can t really say anything positive beyond that. Basically a large gravel parking lot with hook ups.
