This is a very nice state park with lots of hiking trails, wildlife, swimming, fishing, and even golfing. Most of the famous pine trees were killed in the big fire of 2011, but it is still a nice place to spend some time. There are 35 sites with water and 30A electricity, and 35 sites with water, 30/50A electricity, and sewer. The full hook-up sites are $20 a night. The restrooms in both campgrounds are currently being rebuilt. Portable toilets are available in both campgrounds, and a temporary shower facility is available in the Piney Hill campground. Hopefully the construction will be done soon and brand new facilities will be available. We stayed here in a Travel Trailer.
Stayed four nights for new years. Good times. Dead trees are a sad sight, but they're coming back fast!
Restrooms are as good as a five star hotel. Amazing renovation.
My place flooded and I stayed here for two months. It's a nice place, with a friendly staff. Due to fire, the trees are in bad shape, but still a good place to stay. Note that they currently do not have WiFi and they don't know when it will be working again.
Stayed two nights. Nice size spots. We are in a travel trailer. Fire pits, super clean bathrooms with showers too. Lots of tent sites with water and power. Lots of hiking trails. Highway noise is there, but tolerable. It was 76 degrees, Windows open so noise inside is noticeable. Wish we could had stayed longer...
Very nice quiet park (with the exception of hwy 71 noise). The view out our door is over the forest of burned trees but it still is a beautiful campground. Pads are paved and mostly level. Much of the park is closed due to the recent flooding. Lots of bunnies!
Although most of the pine trees were lost in the fire of 2011, this is still a nice pretty and quiet park to camp in. Restrooms are being rebuilt at this time so the only facilities are in a trailer. Many trails to hike on.
I posted yesterday day and must not had proofed my post. The highway noise is there, but NOT terrible!! Sorry, couldn't edit my last review.
