Reviews for Battle of Cedar Creek Campground

| Great place!

By user-5805277... on 2017-10-23.

Location, location, location! Pulled my 5th wheel in and was set up in less than 30 minutes. Very efficient check in and reservation process. The owners live on site and they are really bringing this place back to life. Apparently, previous owners had let things go a bit. New owners are really working hard on the place. The full hook up sites are a little close together but the resort is right on the river and all the electric/water/sewer was in excellent working order. Lots of full timers and they keep a close eye on things. I thought, with all the younger people, nights would be loud and full of noise. Nope! Guests were respectful and courteous. Five stars as soon as the new owners get the laundry and bathrooms up to snuff (usable now but, some work to do yet). A very nice little find.

Looks like a full time place with extra sites for nitely RVs. It will work for the night. Wished they had answered their phone earlier today. No one at office when we arrived.

I sent an email earlier this morning to gather some specific information about the campground. Within minutes I received a response that was prompt, courteous and professional!

| GREAT FOR OVERNIGHT STAY

Stayed one night on the way from Florida. Great for overnight stay. About one mile off I 81. Manager on site very friendly and helpful. Do not follow GPS directions. These will take you down a road that you really can't go down with an RV. Making a U Turn requires a set of skills. As you exit I81 the campground is on the left. GPS will tell you to go further and make a right.

We stayed there last night. The place does not look like the pictures. Grass not mowed, pool green, trash in fire pit. No one in office. Call a number and they assign site and you slip cash thru a slot in door. They stop by once a day to collect money. Looks like journeyman workers camp there. If all you want is a place for night with elec and water, then $30 isn't bad. No technology.

| Great Place to Spend Your Time

By user-5839128... on 2017-10-23.

We paid $35 a night ( the cheapest in the area) at this place and it is definitely worth every penny. The managers are wonderfully helpful and the site is incredibly pretty. Even in the winter when we stayed but in the summer it will be gorgeous. All the facilities you could hope for and the place even has a mini golf course!!! I recommend for anyone traveling in this area, but I also think this is one sight worth going out of your way for.

Sent email no response, called phone on listing, got voice mail with no greeting. Called later some person answered, had to ask if this was campground, they said yes and I made reservation. Arrived at campground and found office closed. My reservation was not posted, a map showing sites posted, but they were all full, so much for reservation. Had to find another campground, on way out police were driving in. Do not waste your time until they get their act together. Place looks nothing like their website.

The property has been purchased by the adjacent Belle Grove Plantation historic site. No updates as to whether it will reopen.
