Reviews for Bear Canyon Campground

Dpaces are close together, the pool is really nice but the bathrooms have curtains instead of doors....the showers and the toilets. That's just not ok. Why are there no doors on the toilet? We enjoyed our stay, but didn't use their toilets like I prefer to do. Kind of a disappointment.

| Amazing view on the back side of campground

Of all the 48 different campground we stayed at on our 3 month Alaskan trip this was the worst to get level. They put us on the backside of the campground in a back-in site. The site drops off into a ditch that makes it almost impossible to ever get level. You have to unhook your tow vehicle from your camper because the sites are so short. Even if you are only staying one night you would have to unhook. We were able to put the awning out but the truck literally sat right under the front of the awning. The pull-through sites look a lot better but I believe they are narrow. The showers/bathrooms were clean even with so many people using them. They pool was always in use and it looks like they rent out spaces during the day just so you can use the pool. The tenting area is grassy and always had tents there. I loved the views we had and that almost made up for the bad campsite. Yes there are trains all night too.

We came in late and they had our reservation info on the door. Spaces are close together, bathrooms clean, didn't use the showers or other on site amenities. Easy to find from the highway.

I called every place in the area before coming here. They were all full or wanted to charge me 79 or higher. I called this place last because of the low reviews. I was pleasantly surprized! My pull through site was a good size, I didn't even have to unhook my truck from my 37' trailer. It was perfectly level without help. The bathrooms/showers are cute and clean. The pool is small but clean and clear. The play area is full of thoughtful gestures like sand toys and sidewalk chalk. Best of all, they didn't charge me for my 6 kids and were cheerful about it. The last park I'd spoken to had just acted all worried about me having kids and charged me extra for each. I've found this policy and attitude surprisingly common... so Bear Canyon was refreshing. We'd definitely come back.

| Difficult to get out when leaving with a towable

Spots are very narrow and the trees are too close to the front of the pull thrus to make turns necessary for 5th wheels and pull trailers.

We are at Bear Canyon campground in Bozeman Montana. I really enjoy stepping out my door into the sewer hookup and i can't wait to eat my dinner right there too. It's a good thing that my awnings arent chomping at the bit to get out because there isn't room. I have asked to be moved but there have been a hundred excuses why they can't move us. We would love to leave but our sole purpose here is to meet with or friends so basically we are screwed. When we made or reservation I specifically asked if they would put its together and was told yes. My advice is to avoid this place. All for $50 a night.

The people who run this park are very nice. The bathrooms are nice and clean and the Wi-Fi works pretty well. The sites are narrow, and difficult to level. They water the sites with hand sprinklers, sometimes getting overspray into the gravel parking area. The person watering forgot to turn off the sprinklers and we needed to do that to prevent our site from getting completely flooded. The views are absolutely incredible and there were beautiful sunsets.

Great over night stop. longer term ok. Sites are close. CG is well run. Lots of longer stay campers with kids that use the heated pool. Wifi poor. Train whistle, but not as bad as nearby CG that is MUCH closer to train tracks.

All-night-very-loud trains!!! Campsite is pretty but also close to neighbor. We have a 34 ft and they insisted we can only fit in the pull through sites, but upon walking around the campground I can see that they have longer rigs in lots of the back in sites, so I'm not sure what that is about.

The good first. Very nice RV park, well maintained, great views. The bad, coming from the east underpass under I90 is 13' 3". My rig is 13' 5". Had to get back on Hwy, go to next exit and come back on the other side of bridge. Be careful with this one.

| Beautiful views!

Nice, tidy campground with gravel spots. Our site, #25 was long enough for our 30' with tow vehicle. Level enough. Large trees between pull-thru sites with nice shade. Back in sites at back of campground are shorter with less shade but wide open view of the valley. Bathrooms are ok, clean, only 1 hook. Back in sites at front are closer to I90 so some road noise. Kind of pricey, but everything else between Billings & Bozeman was full (it's July, we didn't have reservations and Yellowstone is close). Would stay again but would book earlier!

Loud! track just the other side of the Interstate! Narrow spaces and many are very unlevel. Not worth the $50. Will have to work my way around a spruce to get out! The scenery surrounding is beautiful spaces are clean..
