Small shaded backins, pleasant staff, cool coal mine tour, local attractions
This camp ground was NOT BIG RIG friendly. It says it is big rig accessible but I would take nothing larger than a 30 footer in here. There are too many really tight turns, really narrow turns to get here, and low overhanging trees along the road. We have a 43' Monaco and it was a struggle and to top it off we only had 30 amps on a day with high heat and humidity. I must sound like a diva, but do a better job than I did researching this stop.
A bit tight to get to with a big rig, but doable. They have 17 back in slots and are very friendly. Spaces have grass and tables. Very pleased for the price with full hookups! If you go to the museum (which you definitely should), you'll get a discount on admission if you mention you are staying at the campground.
There's a steep winding hill you have to climb to the campsite, but following that you have a decent slot to park in. Full hookup, playgrouds, quickymarts 1 mile away, and a tourist attraction right down the block.
Small campground, some tight turns getting in, our spot was not level but we made it work. Bathhouse needs a GOOD cleaning, pretty dinghy and not well maintained (for years). The coal mine tour was fun. Enjoyed all the silver air streams there
