Reviews for Big Bone Lick State Park

| Really nice place

Pretty standard campground with hookups and restrooms with showers. Women's restrooms were a mess when we were there in April. The bison run at the bottom of the hill really makes this place exceptional. Go see them early in the morning when they are at their most active.

This park is very well kept. The sites are always clean and well mowed with paved area for your rig and gravel parking adjacent. Sites are large and spacious. Water and electric at every site (along some are a long distance bring extra hose) with easy access to the dump station. The museum has great learning opportunities and activities all week. Showers are clean (but a little dark ) but unending hot water!!! The campnhosts are great.

Great park! Some sites are a bit unlevel (front to rear) but manageable. Awesome family oriented atmosphere with plenty of activities at the museum for the kiddos. Camp hosts are amazing amd the staff does a great job of keeping up on the maintenance. Asphalt pads for your rig with adjacent gravel area with picnic table and fore pit. LOTS of space between sites. Very quiet and friendly. Make sure to get a burger at Boonedock's and check out Rabbit Hash. Follow the signs on the way to the park. Ask for Bob or Mike at the General Store. They will spend as much time as you want filling you in on the history of the area. (Don't forget to grab a raspberry sasparilla and a moon pie to enjoy on the front porch of the store!)

| Great little park

Water and electricity only at the sites. Most sites shaded, with a slight grade and gravel area adjacent. Excellent camp hosts with access to camp store. For food close by it's hard to beat Boonedocks Pub and Grub. Great Pizzas

As stated in other reviews some sites have a slight grade but are not unmanageable. Good history and trails to explore. We weren't able to make it down to Boondock's for a pizza or burger but did see the place and they had plenty of cars in the lot which usually indicates it may be the place to be? The bathrooms are dated but well kept and clean. It's very quiet unless the Bison are making their mating (?) calls. :) It's tight getting your big rig to the park and in and around the park but I'm rather new to this all and experienced RVer's should have no problem. I think this would be a good place for couples and/or families to spend time if you're passing thru or looking for a lengthier stay. I would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

Awesome park! We rarely make a reservation. this time we arrived at big bone lick they had 1 night on 43. the next night someone had reserved for 1 night, we stayed 5 nights the girls,Tanya and Julie worked really hard to keep us on our site and the camphost Howard too! Actually the family used reserve America and were happy to move, they had kids and the site was next to the playground! We felt welcomed and well cared for, we will be sure and come back when we're in the area. The campground is very well cared for, I believe this is the nicest campground we've stayed at. thanks Tanya, Julie and Howard!

We had a great stay. Grands had fun in the pool and miniature golf, met some very nice people. Never were able to see Bison they were always hiding in the trees somewhere. We stayed her as a central location to the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. Roads getting in and out are a little narrow and squirrelly and steep in places. Showers and laundry were okay for a state park but they could use a deep cleaning
