Reviews for Big Lagoon State Park

| Beautiful but beware of potholes

The park was absolutely stunning, the park had beautiful views and lots of birds if your into birdwatching. I stayed for a few weeks and would see hawks, bald eagles and egrets just to name a few. Each campsite varies in size but we stayed in a site that accommodated our 35' and our car with no problems. There was plenty of growth between sites to give you the privacy you look for when going camping. One of the best features in my personal opinion was each site had a clothing line ready for your towels and swimming suits after your day at the beach. It was located close enough to stores and attractions, including a Target and Waffle House (food was great the few times we went) and close enough to any other attractions your looking for. The one thing I would have to say is that the potholes were pretty rough to navigate through. Tires aren't cheap, especially in an rv. It would be nice if they could fill them up, but if I'm going through the area anytime soon, that will be the place I stay.

Our campsite is a brush pile. No wifi, no cable, no sewage, no laundry. Will never stay here again.

| Not good for big rigs

Yes it is beautiful but for me having a class a 36fter there were only 4 spaces out what like a 100 spaces, would have to say blue angel rec park was better 4 bigger rigs.

| Lovely Location

Natural setting with above ground walks and interpretative trails all located on the water. Camp sites have water and electric. Dump site at entrance. Just minutes from the Naval Aviation Museum. Very picturesque at a reasonable price.

| Nice Natural State Park

If you like the outdoors this is a good state park. There are boat and kayaking ramps/ areas and wooden trails The RV sites are pretty tight so if you are over 35 camp elsewhere. A handful of sites are concrete pads but most are sand/shell. Very convenient to the NAS and beaches.

Extremely surprised how nicely maintained this park is. Bathroom/showers are spotless-originally we were only going to stay for one day but decided on extending it...specially with the storm brewing to our west. The staff is as nice as can be. Would have given it a 5 if it was full hookup
