Reviews for Big Pine Campground

| Awesome campground with great hosts

By user-5885491... on 2017-10-23.

Tucked into the tall pines offering shade from the hot sun. Level campsites with firepits, picnic tables, and hookups of all kinds. Bathrooms were spotless and hot showers were included. Ron (owner) delivered firewood to the site (nice touch). Angie (other owner) was running the office and store during our stay and she too was wonderful and helpful. Overall a great campsite that was nice enough we took an unscheduled second night to enjoy. Will be back for sure !!!

| Best Campground we've ever been to!

This lovely place has tons of tall Ponderosa pine trees and is extremely quiet and pretty. We stayed here 9/6/16 and wished we could have stayed two weeks. Very nice family running it and restrooms nice and clean! Will be back for certain!

| So nice and peaceful

Amazing spot. Wish we could stay longer! Sites are very private and surrounded by trees. Wifi is strong. Bathrooms are well maintained. The owners are incredibly helpful and kind. Firewood is $4 per bundle. Laundry is $2/wash, $0.75/30 minutes dry. We were here on the July 4th long weekend just for the night and even though the campsite was full, it didn't feel crowded. $39/night with full hookups.

| Very nice campground

Campground is located in pine trees on a hill just outside of Custer. Owners are very nice and helpful. Restrooms are in excellent condition and kept very clean. Only negative is that there is no cable and you can't pick up anything with an antenna. We stayed 4 nights and would come back again.

| Very Good!

Nice campground with decent space between most sites. Owners/managers VERY friendly and helpful. Hailstorm hit and they immediately got out to check on everyone. They even went around with a ladder and covered up broken roof vents. Constantly doing upkeep jobs to keep campground nice. Showers very good. Not much for over the air TV (it's in the Black Hills!!). Decent Verizon - 2 Bars LTE. Would stay again.

Nice quiet campground/RV Park. Lots of room between you and neighbors. Surrounded by trees and borders National Forest Land for easy access to hiking. Gravel pads that were fairly level. Restrooms and other facilities well maintained and clean. Ron and Angie were very nice and helpful. They are also craft beer fans in case you want to do some regional beer trading during your stay. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.

We were there recently and found Ron and Angie to be great owners! They were very helpful to us when we were having trailer brake problems. The sites are spacious and the guests were very quiet. It was a delightful time and we hope return again sometime.

We stayed there the 3rd week of September.....there were still a fairly large number of campers there. It didn’t matter as the rest rooms and showers were always well maintained and cleaned. Campsites were tucked away on the back of the property, which meant road noise was non-existent. The campground itself was very quiet, even for the number of campers present. Property owners were always nice and friendly, with out being ‘pushy’. Centrally located so we could travel around and see the attractions. Camp sites were gravel, but fairly level...but they had LOTS of room between neighbors. Deer wondered around the campground daily. Cost was not out of line compared to other campgrounds in the area, especially after seeing how tight some of the others squeezed every one together. We WILL be back for another stay with these good folks! Try them, you will not be disappointed!

| Not my type of Campground

I typically like to camp with no hookups in remote areas with few to no neighbors. This round I had my wife and 3 year old with for 10 days and opted for full hookups. I could not have asked for more. Ron and Angie (the owners) were extremly friendly and organized. The entire place was very clean. We had deer coming through camp. I would absolutely come back again.

New owners Phil and Jennifer were terrific. Beautiful campground with lots of big pines! Got here right before 8" of snow came down. Bill cleared site and roads. Even gave me a ride to town the one day I was snowed in.

Very nice campground, well maintained and clean. The main bath house was always clean, didn't use the laundry facilities. With the exception of a few spots, there is plenty of room between sites. They have firewood and ice on site that they will deliver. Centrally located, easy drive to Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse and Wind Cave.

This was the first time I'd ever used an RV park and was part of a 2 week trip. This was our favorite setting by far...nestled in the pines with great views. Staff was helpful and friendly.

| Under new ownership. Quiet and safe.

I was told by a fellow camper it was under new management this summer by people from out of state. That explained why they couldn t tell me for sure which highway to Rapid City did not have tunnels that I should be concerned about. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and campground was quiet. Playground is nothing to brag about though if you have kids.
