We had a reservation made 2 months prior to our stay. We pull in and are given a site with somebody already on it. Then we are given one totally muddy. Meanwhile there are 5-6 empty sites all around us that were dry. I asked for one of them and they were reserved for someone coming in tomorrow . So I should spend 3 days in the mud for someone coming tomorrow? It didn t even make sense. I asked to speak to the owner who gave a good site right away.
Visited here mid August 2018, with a 42 fifth wheel, and was in Site D11, a 50/30/20amp FHU perpendicular back-in site about 60 long. The campground consists of about 195 sites, of those there s 16 sites in the D area (transit area) that are 50/30/20amp FHU. Those 16 have packed gravel pads, shaded areas, grass between sites w/fire rings and picnic tables and graveled interior roads that are easy to navigate even with big rigs like our fifth wheel. A large majority of the campground is seasonal/long term tenants with most of the transit tenants limited to the D area. The campground does offer a clubhouse, swimming pool, pavilion, playground area, basketball and volleyball courts, horseshoes, park like area, laundry/restroom/shower facilities, planned activities and LP refill service. AT&T cellular service was acceptable (4G/LTE) as was the OTA television reception. Pros and Cons (In my opinion) - Quite and clean. - Acceptably distance to downtown Philadelphia, Valley Forge and Lancaster. - Our first con came at check-in. The posted check-in time is after 2 pm, however, after 5 pm there s a $20 charge when the office closes. We usually try and time our arrivals accordingly. We arrived about 4 pm just in time to catch the young lady working the office, as she decided she was going to leave early that day because as she said she thought she didn t have anyone coming in. Funny, since we had a reservation that was clearly easy for her to find in their computer. In addition, we felt she was rude and that she acted as if we were inconveniencing her. I should have taken the hint when I made the reservation over the phone because she was rude at that time as well. - We experienced heavy rains during our 10 day stay and I can tell you that site 304 could use a little more gravel on the pad but all things considered it was real bad. - The narrow roads (ie. Creamery Rd, Martins Corner Rd, N Bonsall Rd) and with many low hanging branches was like an obstacle course challenge, a gauntlet of sorts. - It s not at all close to really anything as far as services go. There s a pizza place about 2 miles, a fuel/convenience store and 5 miles and a Walmart about 20 minutes away. - Utility connections are located near the back of the sites in D so best to plan accordingly, we had to use near every bit of our 20 sewer hose.
