Members only park! This Resort is under new ownership, since 2017, and they're now called Water's Edge (formerly Bishop's Landing, prior to that Castaways). The new owner is a developer of Tiny Homes and they can't keep up with the demand! They're also building new RV sites, since there are quite a few permanent residents, and a large RV/Boat storage space, leaving little space for short-term RVers. They really need to pave the roads, because it's uneven and hilly terrain, with gravel or grass on most sites. We lucked out and got a premium site with a concrete slab and 50amp FHUs by the water's edge! The only drawback is that they're constructing Tiny Homes all day, so it's a little noisy. They have a bathhouse with clean restrooms, showers, and laundry that takes credit cards! There's a nice pool with 2 water slides (not heated), the hot tub was broken, a baseball field, basketball court, tennis court, miniature golf, and updated clubhouse with Wifi. We couldn't get a signal at our campsite. Pet friendly, but no pet area. Some people use the fields or lakeside grassy areas to play fetch, but our pup isn't trained, so she needs a fenced in area. Sam Houston National Forest and Lake Conroe is large and lovely! The Resort has a lot of work to do, but they're doing it, and it may not take too long before they're receiving 5-star reviews. We would love to return!
