The lack of investment is showing in this camping stop. The roads and spots are very narrow. If you have over a 20ft camper don't try. They have not done a good job trimming back the brush and they don't have any showers on site. All the spots are shaded but not much space between sites.
Fairly well spread out RV sites. No hookups. No phone service, no WiFi, but a Acadia is a spectacular park. Very popular destination, so expect it to be full during the summer season. Lots of trails nearby. We took advantage of the free bus shuttle system to get around the island.
If you are looking for a National Park Camping experience this is a great place. The sites are rustic and close to most of the parks attractions. Restrooms are up-to-date and clean, convenient trash ares, good dump station, friendly staff. Like most National Parks there are no Rv hook-ups. about 15 minute drive to Bar Harbor and several other picturesque villages. Short walk to the shore to see the sun rise from this campground. Our trailer is 28 feet and is about the maximum I would bring into the campground.
