On the Yakima river in a beautiful little canyon between Yakima and Ellensburg. Some open spaces, some treed. Windy, as it probably often is in the canyon.

Stayed in this nice clean BLM park overnight. No charge after Sept 15th. Right on the small Yakima River. Lots of nice flat long back in spaces. Seems like there were only a few pull- throughs. Pit rest rooms, trash dumpsters. Dry camping otherwise. I stayed on a really windy night and being in a river canyon I'm sure the wind speed was higher than usual but still enjoyed the free site. I would probably pay the $15 in the summer if I enjoyed tubing on the river. 10 miles to shopping in Ellensburg.

| Beautiful easy canyon drive.

There is no dump / water, but otherwise this is dry river camping a its best. Paved level sites, some crescent pull-thrus. There is another BLM CG about eight miles back up the road, but it only has a few sites and is all gravel/mud. There is NO AT&T signal, OTA, or radio signal.

It is one of the nicest, well maintained BLM sites that I have stayed at. You can reserve online or you can show up and pick a site. All sites are paved. There are toilets, garbage disposal, fire rings, picnic tables. Not a lot of shade available. No electric/water. No sewer dump. BUT It is a super pretty canyon right on the Yakima River. Lots of people floating down the river in tubes. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is that there is NO Verizon, Tmobile or ATT signal. So if you are like me, and you work from the road.... this is not a good spot for more than a night or two.
