We stayed at this campground only one night. Unfortunately the manatees were already gone, and there were lots of screaming kids in the water( spring break). The campground was clean and quiet, sites were large, showers very nice, washer and dryer. We paid for our 22' truck camper with elect and water about $25. The park is pretty, water so clear. We would definitely stay again.

Wildly popular park with the locals in the winter when the manatees are in the spring run. Especially on weekends, Cars lined up waiting to get in make for a long wait to get back to your campsite. very sparse phone signal, no wi fi. Otherwise, a nice Florida Park, close to train tracks nice close up access to the manatee

What a nice campground. Large site, good price, very clean restroom and shower. Expensive washer ($4) and dryer ($3 for 12 min.).
There was 326 manatees to see that day. The water was very clear so we had a great view on manatees and fishes.
It is a very nice park to stay.

Manatees!!!
By user-5230348... on 2018-03-14.
This place is great - as are most Florida state parks. During the winter months the river fills with manatees. Taking off a star because the spots were ridiculously full and park rangers seemed okay with that. Many campsites had 10+ campers in a single site. The most packed had a class A, three tents, and three cars on it. The place was a zoo.

Nice state park, restrooms are new, clean and well maintained. Easy walk from campground to the springs and river. We were here mid week and went over to the springs early, around 9 am so very few other people around. By noon the river and springs were full of visitors. We took the river tour and it was great. Captain Rob was fun, knowledgeable and full of info on this park as well as others (national). Our site was quite sloped so it was hard to get leveled even in our little truck camper. Be prepared for the trains! First night every hour right behind our site (#20) but then only a couple of times a night. Saw lots of fish and manatees as well as a ton of birds and gators on the river tour.

This park is most well known for the manatee viewing that is available during manatee season (mid-November through March). We were there at the end of May for four nights, and we had just missed a baby manatee calf that was born May 25. We didn t see any manatees at all. It rained almost all day every day we were there, so we didn t get to see the springs as much as we would have liked. This is a very popular park, so even through the week, you might have trouble getting a reservation. There was a brand new bath house and laundry facility.

Fenomenal park. Got to see up close 3 Manatees and it is mid summer. The river is huge and beautiful with water temperature warmer than other places I ve been to.
