| Too bad for salvation

By user-5782342... on 2017-10-23.

The most beautiful lake in Virginia. US Forest Service campgrounds operated by Utah based concessionaire. Local manager is off her meds most days, is totally overwhelmed and will send you away feeling like it's your fault that she is so 'busy'. Too bad, maybe changes can be made to get campers to return. Marina, Store, Sugar Ridge, Camps 1, 2, and 3 are on one side of lake, Morris Hill and 2 launch ramps on other side. Will not return until customer service does.

| Lake is beautiful, campground is not

By user-6542969... on 2019-08-09.

We stayed in June 2018. The lake is beautiful! The campground wasn t. Bathroom facilities are cleaned by the camp hosts. Ours sprayed chlorine bleach on the toilet, sink, and shower and left. Several campers ruined towels and clothes because they touched the straight bleach on their fabric. The walls in the bathrooms were covered in muck. Also, the shower and sinks needed a good scrubbing. Sites are close together and tight. Camp hosts did not know of any local place to wash clothes. Camp store didn t have much. Workers were not friendly. We traveled to Hot Springs for supplies. The local IGA is great.
