| Beach facing spaces aren't bad

By user-5060707... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2015-02-09 to 2015-02-13

Last year we stayed in a space next to the PCH and it was very noisy. This year we were able to get one facing the beach. Even though they are 40' from the PCH they are much quieter. There are thousands of people that use the newly paved path that runs about three miles along the State Park, so be prepared for lots of voices walking, running and riding by your RV. There is water and electricity and the dump station is nearby. No fire pits in the campground but lots on the beach, which attracts big parties on the weekend. The campground is about two miles from Huntington Beach to the south and Sunset Beach to the north.

| Noisey

By user-5810317... on 2017-10-23.

This State Park is located right on Highway 1. There are two rows in the Campground, highway side and ocean side, the inside row is $50 a night in the outside row is $65 a night. While it might seem a nice place to camp, if you are on the inside its very very noisy with the major highway just a few feet away. It seems to be better on the outside role of the park, we didn't want to pay the extra money for that. The slots are also really close together, barely enough for a slide out on one side and the awning on the other side. And for that kind of money you would think you would at least get a picnic table, but no dice. The most redeeming feature is its proximity to downtown area but I don't think we'll be staying here again.

| Terrible hosts

After our experience last night, I had to post this additional comment to my previous review. Some local friends of ours came to visit us last night, and they were charged $13 just for the privilege of driving their vehicle up to our campsite. Couldn't believe it very embarrassing. We found that if you tell them they are coming to pick you up to take you to town is permissible but they come to stay for a couple of hours, they have to pay. You can bet we'll never be here again.
