| Wonderful Location

This is a great spot right near the Dam on the Snake River, nice drive through the Palouse to get here, steep grade down to river if coming from the north. Mature trees, new owners have really taken care to make upgrades, good food at the restaurant, nice walking or bike trail along the river...

At some point, from nearly all points of origin, begins a back country road journey. With nearly zero shoulder on the roads, you need to be mindful of your boundaries, no matter what vehicle you re driving. Use tire pressure monitors if you don t already. Not very flat tire friendly. If you re headed south from Spokane, be sure to go through Pullman, WA rather than the slightly more direct route SW from Colfax. Having been on nearly all surrounding roads, they are all slow going... 50-60 mph at most. The scenery is very nice, even having come from the Rockies of Montana. The final 5-6 miles from the north are very winding, very steep, and distracting to say the least. Use engine braking for sure, and take it easy going down. Nothing scary... Just be mindful, as the road is steep and narrow. The campground is well kept by friendly and helpful staff, and has wonderful old growth shade trees throughout the grounds. RV spots are meant to be backed into. They are all well groomed areas with good visibility, even for a novice or RV renter. Most have enough space for a second vehicle as well. If you re staying in a long term area, as I was, you have a reasonable $600 monthly rate, along with metered electric. However, access to walking path and water front is lessened by a few hundred feet because of wild pervasive vegetation. And zero shade!!! Secured boat docks were $85/week or $150/month. Unsecured boat docks were $80/month and I don t remember the weekly rate. I was, and will be here for an attempt to make a living at pikeminnow fishing. Having been to many campgrounds in many states, I will say that this is one of my very favorite for sure. Excellent space between rigs, at least 25 feet, plus shade, a kids park, beautiful location, water access, fishing access and a great view of the snake river canyon. I would recommend this campground to anyone, especially if they re a KOA rewards member
