Reviews for Buckhorn Lake Resort

| Beautiful campground but road noise

By user-6661098... on 2017-10-23.

This is a wonderful park. Clean and orderly. Plenty of space between sites. Cement road and pads. They only drawback is the freeway noise.

| Buckhorn Lake has it all.

We love it here: clean, paved roads, concrete pads, grassed sitting area, family owned/operated and it shows. We prefer the outer loop in the Executive section for a little more scenic space.

| Magnificent!

It doesn't get any better than this AND at more than reasonable rates.

| Spring Break 2015

By user-6597319... on 2017-10-23.

Getting ready for Full-time, went for test run in our new 5vr. Had my 18 yr old with us and stayed in the adult Only section. Very nice, clean and friendly people. Great place. Hot tub was nice. Have two fur babies and they have a nice dog walk. Catch and release fishing also.

| Awesome

Staying for 8 nights. Superior in every way. Roomy and well groomed. Staff shows that they like it here as well. Met some really good people while we were here. Will definitely be back. Wifi does come and go, but not a reason to not give 5 stars.

| BEST RV PARK IN TEXAS!

Highly recommend! Well kept and very nice. Great customer service! This is one of the best RV parks in the country hands down!

| Beautiful five star resort

By user-5862182... on 2017-10-23.

We spent the weekend at BLR and would highly recommend it. The lots are spacious and the grounds are immaculate. The people are friendly and the amenities are excellent. We stayed in the adults only section, but you really couldn't go wrong with any spot.

| Five Star RV Resort

By user-5821122... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2016-06-04 to 2016-06-10

Truly a five star RV resort. Paved roads, concrete pads, good room between sites, good landscaping. One very attractive place and all located in Texas hill country 50 miles west of San Antonio. We always try to spend at least a few days here when traveling by on I-10.

| Elegant

Everything is as it should be for a true resort. Upscale in layout, their clientele (primarily RVs) and facilities. The public spaces (pool, hot tub, showers, laundry) are under-used, at least in the Age 50 & Above section because most guests use their own RV facilities. A bit pricey at $45 but worthy as the owners really work at being Superior in every way.

| Best park we've been to

By user-5898887... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2016-01-03 to 2016-03-03

We came to BLR due to the great reviews and they certainly lived up to their stellar reputation. It's beautifully laid out and the staff and ownership are great. They have a full activity schedule that we really enjoyed. As a result of the activity schedule it was easy to meet others at the park. They have four pickleball courts that are very popular with players of all skill levels. Kerrville is a great town and there are many other nearby towns that are worth visiting. We originally booked a month but decided to stay for another. We've already booked a couple of months next winter.

| Great Park - Useless WIFI

By user-5887416... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2016-10-06 to 2016-10-11

One of our favorite parks for grass, cleanliness, amenities, beauty, level concrete, roomy spaces. If you need or want wifi though, forget it unless you want less than the old dialup speed and bandwidth. They haven't stayed current with technology.

| OMG the best

By user-6204622... on 2017-10-23.

This is the best park we have stayed at in Texas! We will be back.

| Beautiful and Fun

By user-6045260... on 2018-03-14.

We pulled into this park at “Happy Hour”, great timing! The park was beautiful and alive. People looked to be having fun. Sites were concrete pad, plenty wide and long enough to stay hooked up. Lots to do here, dog friendly and easy on/off the interstate. Will definitely come back when in this area.

| Nice facilities and nice staff

By user-4951653... on 2018-03-14. Stayed 2018-01-27 to 2018-01-28

The place is clean and beautiful. Paved streets and concrete sites make it less dusty. Lots were large. We arrived late in the day and snagged one of a couple of open spaces. We had to back in as all the pull thrus were booked but even then, the lot was big enough we didn't even unhitch our 43' fifth wheel for the single night we were there. There is a restaurant and small market on site for convenience. This is one of the best we have stayed at.

| Loved it!

This place is fabulous, clean, friendly and better than most! It is a resort people come to in TX! I’d stay longer if I could!

| Very nice RV park

By user-5927736... on 2019-08-09.

Buckhorn Lake Resort is a nice facility and offers different accommodations. There is an exclusive owners' only section in the back, a lakeside section with an adults only pool and the front section which is near I-10. We called in a reservation for the night on our way east into Texas. When we arrived, we realized they were going to put in the front section. We were concerned about the highway noise and had them move us to the lakeside section, which was an additional $5 per night. The site was good. Concrete pad that was very level and with ample space. The sites are set up in alternating directions, so your rig shares a picnic area with the next rig rather than staring at their hookup area. It was a nice setup. Our site was on a loop and the turn was so tight we had to unhook our tow and backup to get into the pull-through site. Fortunately there was an empty site that allowed us to do that. Given that they claim to be set up for big rigs, I was surprised by the tight turn. Overall, we had a nice quiet stay with no other issues.

| Beautiful

By user-5190556... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2018-12-15 to 2018-12-17

You won't find a better park in much of the United States. Especially for $48 per night. My words can't do it justice. Only drawbacks are the noise from I10 and the wifi IP address is all screwed up. However, you 20 minutes from Fredericksburg, 40 from Sea World, 75 from the Alamo, and 100 from the San Marcos outlets. It's all set in the hills of Texas and worth every cent.

| Great Park - still useless wifi

By user-5899915... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2019-01-04 to 2019-01-06

Nice park. Staff friendly and helpful. Wifi is a total disaster. Parked 60 ft from 2 different wifi antennas. My system does connect to access point, but never able to get IP address or connect to internet.

| Nice, But

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.

Very nice park with excellent facilities. Best cable TV that we have seen - true HD with 36 channels, including golf. But, wifi is mostly useless. At times it works ok with decent speed, but then "no internet". Cell is ok and data access is much better than wifi. Yes, we would stay here again.

| A Favorite

We love this park. We stay in the adult (over 16) section pull ins facing the creek and green space. Level shaded sites, afternoon shade, lots of space between sites. Lovely adults only pool and hot tub. Clean laundry room, bath and showers. Right off I-10 but not much road noise in the adult section. Utilities work great. Nice amenities and activities. Friendly, helpful staff.
