Nice park but too many rangers ready to give you a ticket for anything that you do makes you afraid to even litter
Large campsites and FLIES EVERYWHERE. Smells of the stockyard and no swimming in the lake.
We got a great site right on the lake for a one night stay arriving mid afternoon in early November. It was off season so no neighbors it was quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view across the lake. We had to get an early start in the morning and woke up to a lovely sunny day. I stepped outside to admire the lake, took a breath and about fell over. The stench was terrible, apparently the wind had shifted and we were now downwind of something very stinky, it was bad, really bad. I was afraid I was going to get sick breathing the foul air while I was breaking camp. I was wishing I had at least a particle mask to breath through. On the drive to I5 we found out what the smell was as we passed a number of massive dairy farms with thousands of cows. As long as the wind is in the right direction this is a great place to stay a night. But don't think I'd risk staying here again.
