Reviews for Butterfield RV Resort

| Delightful!

Spent 3 days here with group caravan. Convenient to many places to visit. Very friendly and helpful staff. Weather prevented an observatory show all 3 nights but were shown the the telescope anyway by the volunteer. Would recommend this campground highly. . Despite the train noise!

| Nasty, noisy, cramped

We found the manger to be just plain nasty to everyone she spoke to. Other staff was very nice though. The park is clean, with nice facilities but the sites are cramped and the noise from the trains and the traffic is relentless. We wouldn't to back. Too many other places to choose from.

Very clean, friendly people and host. Laundry, pool and facilities look very nice. Train noise only downside, but same as most places out west.

They accept Good Sam and Passport America. Their summer rates are lower than normal rates so they didn't even need to apply Good Sam savings. We were looking forward to visiting the onsite observatory but the winds had a different plan. When the winds are in the double digits they can't open the roof. Safeway and a large Ace Hardware store are just 500 ft away. Lots of trains passing through town which is good when your train fans like us but you don't really want to have to hear them when you're trying to sleep. They allow dogs, which didn't apply to us this trip, but good to know they have a small enclosure to let the dog off leash to take care of business. They have a putting green and driving practice net and they provide the balls and clubs. Good AT&T LTE, which was faster than the free wifi. We utilized one of the two propane grills they offer in the pool area. We would definitely stay here again.

The park is very spacious with a good size lots. Very clean and great Wi-Fi. We were lucky to get in as we hadn't booked. We are spending 5 nights here and will definitely be back. The only reason we put 4 star is because of the trains but that isn't anything the camp can do about.

I felt I was lying on the tracks - very disturbing.

What a gem! We stopped for a quick overnighter in a 30 ft travel trailer. Park is extremely clean and well maintained. All lots pull-thru concrete pads and plenty spacious. The clouds and wind cancelled the observatory show for us unfortunately; sounds pretty awesome when the weather is good however. Ms Janet at the front desk and Mr Jim on the grounds are wonderful. Some construction going on around the clubhouse area but everything, to include the pool, was open. Golf nets for driving and mini putting green were nice touches. Only minor thing keeping it from 5 stars were the train whistles, as previously noted, which is common to many places out west. Just have a white noise app on your phone or something if that bothers you. WiFi was great. We will definitely be back, it is a great stop.

| Great Location with a few Problems

let me start off this review by saying it's a very nice park. The spaces are wide level and easy to navigate. The staff is very friendly. The amenities with regards to washers dryers showers and common rooms are very very good everything is clean and well-maintained. Now on to the few problems that I mentioned in the title. There is no pool or should I say the pool is under construction so if you're going swimming don't expect too. The Wi-Fi is the worst Wi-Fi situation we've experienced in all of our travels. They use an external provider for Wi-Fi which is cumbersome to navigate expensive and very very slow. In fact 1.5 megabytes download speed is the max you can get and you are often Throttle Down to 1,000 megabits per second which is unusable for anything but email. If you're not a fan of trains, look for another park. There are trains that go through multiple times during the evening and each time they blow their whistle so if that's going to bother you again look elsewhere. Overall a nice park, and we would stay here again but our expectations would be a little bit lower than they were when we first arrived. Be aware of the fact that you will be paying premium prices for this park.

Agree with all comments by Billbisbee, except we didn't use WIFI. We did go to the observatory for the FREE 2 hour demonstration. The operator was very interesting and informative. Very convenient from I-10.

We wanted to see Tombstone, but everything near there was full, so I tried Butterfield and what a stroke of luck! It is a beautiful, well kept park and the observatory was a pleasant surprise. We were able to see a star show in between some clouds. The presenter was very knowledgeable and was able to answer everyone's questions. We will definitely stay here again.

| Good but....

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.

Good clean park, wide roads, decent size lots we were in a back in for a week. 3 small dog runs good enough to use the bathroom but not large enough for our large dog to run. Great price with passport America in the summer, walking distance to Safeway and Starbucks. Most workers friendly. Close to kartchner cavers and tombstone. trains blow there horns all the time that d did not bother us. The observatory guy was very knowledgeable. BUT... pool and hot tub under construction, WiFi is hard to log into and extremely slow, no cable the whole time we were there and kept getting the run around one lady acted like they didn t need us there and we could just leave. Pool table is in need of some repair. Hope things get fixed would like to stay here again and update my review.
