We stayed here after touring Gettysburg National Park. Fortunately we found a good level spot, and we had electricity. The restrooms were gross, so I didn't take a shower. It's OK if you just need a night or two. We paid $29 and that was with a senior discount.

| Nice but more expensive than we thought. Extra for non PA residents, plus $4 transaction fee

5-6 miles off I81, ice, water and firewood available on-site, bathrooms and showers ok. Restaurants in town 2-3 miles away. Dump station available but no water. Only here 1 night so we didn't expoore much. We would come back for a longer stay

| Nice campground for budget minded campers

We stayed at Caledonia State Park as a low cost alternative to the private campgrounds that are closer to Gettysburg. Caledonia SP is secluded in the woods and was very quiet during the week. The sites in the electric loop are gravel and level. Some sites are not well defined so it can be tricky when setting up. The bathhouse isn't very nice but at least there is plenty of hot water and the commodes flush. There is a nice swimming pool at the nonelectric loop. There is no camp store so you will have to leave camp if you forget something. That wasn't too bad because we were at the battlefields at Gettysburg everyday. Make sure you have adequate lighting because it gets dark. Caledonia is between two large hills, and the only light is from inside the bathhouse. We will stay here again when we are in the area.

Well, the title is a little misleading. My wife and granddaughter and I did stay one night in site 164. Right next to the playground, which the granddaughter did use and looked. Unfortunately, our stay was on a Friday night when a rain noreaster decided to come thru. It was our first time out with our new used popup so we got to see all the problems with it. Had a leak around the vent (which I re-caulked) and the furnace wouldn't stay running. But enough about us. The campsite was good. Close enough to the restrooms that it wasn't an issue, even with the rain. They were heated and the showers looked good for a campground (but I have nothing to compare them to). Never made a fire but the fire ring was a good size and would have been nice to use of it hasn't been raining. Nice and quiet and the rain sounded nice. Slept great. We would definitely stay here again but our next outting will be boondocking once the furnace gets fixed.

| Quiet early season camping

The wife and I stayed here for our taxcation in 2018. (She works for an account so I don t see her much in March and April.) our site was nearly level needing just a few blocks. Camp managers were friendly and helpful. Restrooms/ showers are showing their age But one of the loops was getting scrapped and redone with full hookups and new bathhouses to be opened for 2019 season! Looking forward to another visit! Great hiking trails for all levels of ambition...flat ones too! our site was electric only but there is a dump station and drinking water nearby. Firewood is available from the camp hosts.
