| All the comforts!

Don't hesitate to try this campground. It is clean, very well maintained and managed by wonderful people. All rv sites are full hookup including cable and wifi is excellent. They also cater to tent camping with dedicated sites as well as cabins and at least 2 trailer rentals. Nice pool, games, laundry, baths and camp store! RV sites are generally level gravel but each has a concrete pad with a picnic table, also a grill and fire ring. We've stayed twice and will definitely stay again!

Very clean and comfortable campground. It's small and quaint. Noise is non existent. Trolley picks you up right in front of resort and will take you into Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Will come back again.

Very clean. Quiet at night. Nice pool and bath house. Also on the trolly line which is a big plus. We will definately be back.

| Great Campground but it is hard to get to it

This is a beautiful Campground very nice. You might have to level out your side a little with levelers. The worst part is getting to the campground, you can come in from 40 taking the back way through Cosby, but the roads are very very narrow and curvy or you could come through Gatlinburg were the traffic is terrible and the roads are also very tight and curvy. We use T-Mobile and we were unable to use our phones at all.The Wi-Fi is spotty especially of afternoon/early night hours. The campground itself was beautiful and very quiet.

sharing from a FB group.... After staying at this campground for two weeks (which I would have initially given about a 3.5 rating) we left this morning only to find out my debit card had been charged $169.35. Now, if you ve ever stayed here or looked into it you would know that they get 100% of their money prior to arrival. I called the office only to find out we were being charged this outrageous fee because the cast iron lever valve for water had broken off on Tuesday when my husband tried shutting the water off. We reported it to the office and a few hours later they sent someone to fix it. The guy said to us that he thought it was a defective casting because he had never seen one just break off like that. We thanked him. Thought that was the end of the story until I got charged this morning. We were there for four days after this (in a nearly empty campground) and no one ever came to speak with us about it. When I called this morning and spoke to (L), I was very upset. I did not give them permission to charge anything to my debit card. She informed me that by giving the card as prior payment that gave them permission to charge damages we caused. When I told her what the repair man said about faulty casting she informed me he has no association with Camp LaConte. We camp 150 nights a year and have for many years. We have never been charged for faulty equipment in a campground until today. I certainly will never go back again (nor will the people with me). Plenty of other campgrounds in the Gatlinburg area. Skip this one. Update: Went to the bank today. It seems there isn t anything they can really do. The money is out of my account and in theirs. My bank was upset for me and really wanted to help. With me sitting there they called the owner of Camp LeConte. The bank manager asked him to show where in their terms and conditions that campers would be held liable for damages to their property. He at first said it was there but later acknowledged it isn t. We went round and round with him for at least 30 minutes. He did acknowledge it could have been handled better. He s very upset I posted this and the reaction from people on these boards. Said he was being harassed. At one point I even offered to split this with him, even though I still maintain we were not responsible. No response from him. It was confusing and he contradicted himself several times. Said at one point it was nearly impossible to break those handles but in the next breath said that several had broken and those campers were held responsible and paid. He said I should have gone to the office and squared this away (honest to God I never thought for one second we d be held responsible for this so it never even occurred to me) and I asked why they didn t approach us he said they never got the bill until late Friday night. We left at 4:30 am Saturday so how could I have paid when they didn t (supposedly) know what I owed? He said that this was the first time he d used this plumber and I said I thought that was strange because a friend told me that he (Plumber) did lots of work for the campground and owner replied that he did . Owner, several times, said that he wanted me to call him privately. I won t be doing that. I believe he feels I ve encouraged people to harass him, which I definitely have not. Many people who read my post have apparently contacted them and he s upset about that. I don t condone threatening anyone, especially over money. In the end I told him the ball was in his court and he should handle this in the way he thought was appropriate. Wished him and his family a Merry Christmas. After we hung up bank manager said what just happened . It really was somewhat of a bizarre conversation.
