Reviews for Candy Mountain Resort

By user-5776809... on 2017-10-23.

We just spent 4 days in this park. It rained every day (no fault of the campground) but with no internet and no cellphone coverage it made it more difficult because I had to use internet to do some checking and little work. They advertise that they have internet but it was practically nonexistent. To their own admission "internet doesn't work " why even bother. Restaurant across the street not that great either. They have sign as you walk in with "special" for the evening and then, when several of us try to order it we were told they didn't have it. Because of the rain we've eaten there three times and many of us thought that food was not that great. The place is however great for the riding OHV's and it has great views and beautiful surrounding mountains . (Just too bad it rained practically entire time)

This place is under new management and you can see the improvements that are underway at the campgrounds. Really nice spots next to the river with a great bike trail. The best thing about this place though is the restaurant across the street. I am not exaggerating when I say that this food is gourmet. My wife ordered a pretzel bun burger with sliced beef on top and it was amazing. They make their own salted caramel ice cream. Best banana split I have ever eaten.

Small sites. Kids riding ATV's all over park. Very dusty. A lot of permanent rigs. Would not stay again.

We drove to this place to escape the rising temps of Las Vegas. Campground isn't huge but spaces are far enough apart as to not disturb your neighbors or them disturbing you. Some sights do not have sewer because they are right on the river and as a fisherman, I appreciate that. We were in site 14 which faced the river. 30 yards and you're on the water. Great shade tree on site. No cell service but that wasn't a huge deal for us. Folks were great. Only issue I had was the price for firewood. $6.99 for small bundle and $10 for a large. My fault for not loading it up with us. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and we are not the foremost experts on RV parks but it had what we needed and we will be back

Spent 3 days in mid June 2019 @ $39.88 per night. For us; This was the worst decision we have made in choosing campgrounds. The good: The showers are uni-sex and spacious. While dated they worked as needed once you figured out the hot and could are reversed. The camp host and owner/staff are very nice & knowledgeable. The bad: Dogs running around off leash all day. Somebody else's Kids playing "hide & go seek under my unit. Every spot is close enough to hear your neighbor FxxT. The ATV noise! While I knew this was an ATV heaven, I did not expect the ATV's speeding through the park, many driven by kids! Then there was the diesel owner who came in at 10 pm and ran his ATV (for the headlights) & diesel while it took him an 1 1/2 hour to set up. The WiFi was bad, just plain bad. No phone service at all and no OTA TV. The scenery was fantastic and the ATV trails near-by are a plus. The noise and loose dogs will keep us from coming back.
