Level sites on gravel road which is a little hard to walk on. Sites were kind of close to each other and there are some rental RV units there. Showers were spotless as there was an attendant cleaning them after each use, especially in the morning when they were really getting used. Denali is about 27 miles north and a nice drive. There is a dump station by the office. Would stay again if in the area.
Nice Owners who seem to care about their guests. We used Cantwell RV park as a "base" for a family trip to DNP. Eileen and Jim as well as their employees were very easy to reach and helpful before we arrived, as well as while we were there. They really are the best part of this park. Military/Good Sam/AK resident discount. Picnic tables and campfire rings available. The sites are short if you are a big rig. We're 43 feet long and our site was 44 feet long - pretty sure we had the longest site. Pretty close side to side, but not as bad as many places. No sewer hook-ups, but we have a blueboy which we used to dump our shower and kitchen water....hard to pull on the gravel, but we managed. 4th of July potluck appeared to be very nice and well attended (we were at the nat'l park that day and evening). Small clean laundry -$6 to wash and dry per load. You can only shower between 8 am and 9:30 pm, but the restrooms are open 24/7. OK wi-fi. ATV friendly area. Cantwell has very few amenities, but we knew that before we arrived. Plan ahead. There are seasonal railroad workers staying at the park who have their stuff permanently set up, but they are nice, cordial folks and we enjoyed meeting some of them. 4 stars by Alaska standards.
