Reviews for Carlsbad KOA

| Good for short stays. . .

By user-5805188... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2017-05-15 to 2017-05-18

Nice facility but all gravel roads and pull thrus. Very dusty and it was blowing 35 mph while we were there for 3 days. Very nice restrooms with private showers. Great staff BUT the free wifi is only on the main building. The lot boosters don't work at all.

| Large spaces, level, well kept, not in town

By anonymous-user on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2015-10-12 to 2015-10-14

This is a large, very well maintained KOA campground. The staff was very nice and helpful. The sites are very large and easily accessible from large/wide roadways. Gravel sites with grass between. Nice amenities if you are into using pool, basketball, meeting room etc. Downside is that this is some distance from Carlsbad and Carlsbad Caverns (about 45 min). There are closer RV parks, but not as nice/spacious.

Came here in a 42' 5th wheel and will come again if in the area. All spots are pull-thru's with gravel and FHU. Plenty of room from your neighbor and could stay hooked up to my truck if I wanted too. Nice little store and the facility's were clean and up to date. Could get a little dusty if windy, as the park is mostly made up of gravel. The only bad part of the park is it's located 20 miles North of Town and the wi-fi did not work well at your site.

| Nice place

By user-5844253... on 2017-10-23.

Friendly staff, great smoked meat dinners, cacti and goldfish, wonderful modern clean bathrooms (timed heat lamp over your shower), gift shop and store, star talk on Saturdays (when we were there).

| Great base camp

| Aahhh!

Now this is a model KOA park that all should aspire to. Great service, spacious sites, level and well maintained. Spotted throughout with seating areas and swings. Laundry facilities are modern, clean and in perfect working order. Bathrooms clean and inviting. Lounge area large but cozy. Dog area clean, large and well fenced. Very peaceful and relaxing.

| Propane stop

By user-6158570... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2017-06-08 to 2017-06-08

We did not stay here, only swung in to fill up on propane. Park was extremely clean and well kept. There was someone over to help us even before we went inside to ask. He was very friendly and so was the staff inside. Thanks!

Stayed here on 5/23/2017 (see my review) and returned again on our way back to TX. This is one of the nicer KOA's and you can't beat the staff. We ate this time in the restaurant and it was excellent.

Huge rv park, great staff. Nice store, propane not available until 9 am. Kind of inconvenient if you want too get an early start.

| The sites are wide open and all pull thru's

By user-5852471... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2015-03-04 to 2015-03-10

The sites are wide open and all pull thru's. The water treated for being hard, and has a lot of calcium and does not taste that good even after two additional filter systems in my RV. Would need a reverse osmosis system to clean up this water. Having said this, it’s a nice KOA and close to town. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the laundry facility was good and bathrooms were good too. I would stay here again.

Location was kind of distant in contrast to our intent. However, staff was very helpful and it was a nice RV park. They even let me leave my rig in their parking area while I went out for the day. Thanks for stay!

| Nice enough, but far from everything

By user-5242987... on 2018-03-14. Stayed 2017-12-17 to 2016-12-19

This was OK. We were there to see Carlsbad Caverns, though, and this was more than 30 minutes away. Other parks are closer. You do need to watch out for parks that are mostly occupied by workers, not travelers. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

| Nice park crappy wifi

By user-6552031... on 2018-03-14.

This was a nice park with lots of stuff for children to do well kept. A little on the pricey side but nice park nonetheless Wi-Fi was nonexistent except at the lounge area which was quite nice40 minutes to the caves

| Nice KOA!

By user-5927736... on 2019-08-09.

This is one of the best KOA sites we have been to. The sites are very wide and long, the neighbors are a fair distance away, the roads are wide and easy to navigate (very big rig friendly), the staff is very friendly and quick to offer trips about local attractions, they have an on-site BBQ take-out that delivers right to your door AND the location is excellent. The park is located about 10 miles north of Carlsbad, which was perfect for us - close enough to all the local attractions for an easy drive, but far enough to enjoy the New Mexico outdoors outside of city limits. It is about 1/2 mile off of 285, and extremely quiet. This is New Mexico, so there is lots of gravel and dust and no shady spots. However, the park has nice landscaping and offers various options with additional features, like swings, covered tables, fire pits, etc. There is a small pool and a nice playground. We did not use the laundry or restroom facilities or the wifi.

| First RV Experience

By user-5960044... on 2019-08-09.

This was our first RV experience! Checking was super easy even for late check in and the pull through site was great for newbies! Showers and bathrooms Super clean!! We stayed there for 2 nights. Only complaint, WiFi not so good. But all in all no complaints other than WiFi!

Big level sites. They filled my propane tank upon arrival. Many rules, and staff to enforce them. I followed the rules ...

| Great, but the smell

By user-4721718... on 2019-08-09.

Really nice place to stay, Central to a lot of stuff. The lots are bigger than usual, the laundry room is nice and they have BBQ that they will deliver to your door. I would give them 5 stars but the smell. I'm not sure what the smell is or why you only smell it at night but WOW.

| Nice KOA

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2019-03-16 to 2019-03-22

Very friendly staff, large sites. Was escorted to the site which was very level. Great BBQ delivered to the site. A little pricey but the norm for a KOA.

| Weedy

By user-4970917... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2019-03-19 to 2019-03-21

Not bad for a KOA, large level sites. Good BBQ delivered. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful, but watch out for S--, she can be a little grumpy. Need to chop down the weeds.

| GREAT BIG SITES

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2019-03-20 to 2019-03-24

The sites were some of the largest we have seen in 10 months. Not only long but very wide. Great cable TV, 78 stations, but the WiFi was terrible. Could not connect and get internet for the 4 days we were there. Had to use my phone hot spot. Bathrooms and showers were nice, but the water is so hard you cannot even get soap to suds. Great quiet location, wold probably stay there again.

| Expensive, but nice

By user-5005969... on 2019-08-09.

The friendly staff, large spaces make the park enjoyable. Their K9kamp is great for dogs.
