Not bad, but pretty old and needing reno
By user-2595010 on 2017-10-23.
There are some somewhat permanent older trailers for Carowinds workers on one side. We stayed in #61 near the store and it backed up to a small stream. The grounds need maintenance and the bathrooms attached to the log cabin main office are pretty old. Not a bad cg for just coming to Carowinds, but not a destination cg for sure. Served our purpose fine. Good wifi and full hookups. Friendly gentleman took me on tour of sites and drove the shuttle.

Carowinds Resort

Too bad I didn't read the earlier review I also was assigned site #61 all the sites in this area are small and backup small stream. The bathrooms are new behind the store. If you get you pick of sites any between 97 and up are in the new area. Oh by the way this resort is in the flight path for the Charlotte airport be prepared for jet traffic.

Interesting but can only imagine during peak season

The campsites are relatively level and to be honest with you there's absolutely nothing wrong with anything.
That said let me give you the must knows about the campground.
Coming into the campground can be a little tricky, do not miss the term or turn into the amusement park first. The address to the campground is beyond the main amusement park entrance.
This is the only reason it got four stars, there are no firings. In order to light a fire you have to rent a fire ring or bring your own which in this day and age, it's a fire ring. I'm willing to spend an additional Buck a night or two to cover the cost of a fire ring.
As with any commercial park, the spaces are type. Yes you can put your own and out but you might have a little bit of issue laying down a rug if there's a tree right in front of you. We stayed there for one night so it really wasn't a big deal, I was almost tempted not even to put my slide out for the amount of time that we were there.
If you are not accustomed to using water pressure regulators you want to get custom now because the water pressure is about 110 PSI coming out of the faucet. One thing you don't have to worry about is losing pressure of somebody's taking a shower and trying to wash dishes at the same time
I had to drive completely around the park with 53 feet of Motorcoach and Tow vehicle and I had no problem maneuvering the grounds. All of the times are wide enough that my eight-year-old could have made them
I heard no jet traffic at all however it seems like every Campground in the South has a train track near it. Its not that bad but you hear it over the jets.

Stayed for a week
By user-5259499... on 2018-05-17.
It is clean, quiet, water pressure, WiFi good. No cable is what you can get over the antena, you get some good channels, but at times they pixilated. The spaces in between were decent Close to supermarket Aldi, Food Lion, Publix. We noticed that we didn’t get the Good Sam discount even thought at check in, when my husband asked they said yes, you got it. We needed to extend one more night and that is when we were told we didn’t get the discount for the already paid nights and there was nothing they could do.

Great test campground for our new to us RV
By user-5777111... on 2019-08-09.
We got a new to us RV and wanted a close to home place to test it out. We are glad we stayed here. It was very clean and quiet. We stayed off season but it looks like they have great amenities. We ended up having an electrical issue on our RV so we had to leave a day early but they very nicely refunded us back for that day. We will definitely come back!!!
