A pleasant weekend of quiet relaxing....well almost. Our site was nice and big and had some dense shrubs between our site & the next on one side and the other side was wide open which put us in full sun all day. My a/c works awesome but being a state park, generator use is limited. The listing was partial shade. Oh well other wise it was a very nice weekend. The sites generally looked large. It was nice and quiet there was a lot of area to do some leisurely biking.
Nice campground, but no sites are on the water. We paid $22 for a shady site with electric and water. There is a short downhill path from the electric sites to the lake road and beach. The beach is closed in August due to algae. It's a 5 minute walk to the Deer Head Restaurant, which has lake views and excellence food, including fresh fish.
Good location to see Finger Lakes region. We stayed on the side with electric. It's closer to the lake, however no lake view s from the campground. Only a short walk down to the lake where there is fishing, a nice playground and beach. It's right next to the hwy so there is road noise until about 11PM. The campground could use a little updating with the roads and more gravel in the campsites. Otherwise the shower house and overall grounds were neat and clean.
