| Nice find

Very nice campground. Probably will not have vacancy on weekend. Wednesday night just had 4 open sites but they were already reserved for the next day. Big issue: the address is wrong listed above. The correct address is 391 VFW Road, Cedar Point, NC 28557.

| Peaceful, ample, clean

This is our first time staying in the immediate area, and we really like this campground. It's very close to lots of good eating and shopping in Swansborough and Emerald Isle. And yet the sites are very quiet secluded and ample, it's surprising to see this much land being used for this few campsites. There is occasional noise from the highway, perhaps a half mile away, but it's not too annoying. The only other disruption to the peace is the occasional fly over by an Osprey from the Marine base and distant sounds of live ordinance practice going on, mostly weekday mornings. There are great walking paths out amongst the reeds and marshy areas complete with boardwalks and bridges... very nicely maintained and there's even a canoe ramp to launch your kayak or canoe and follow a path laid out through the marshes. The grounds are very well-maintained and the bathhouses are clean if not completely modern. The one other oddity worth mentioning is that this campground, though it has 50 amp hook ups, has no water at the sites so there are spigots distributed throughout the campground where you can fill up. The dump station is nice size and has a street driveway so it makes dumping even one towing easy, and there is a separate potable water fill near the dump station before you leave so you can top off if needed. There is only one pull-through site, #20, and it is not one of the nicer sites unless you want to be completely isolated from other campers. Almost all of the sites are dead simple to back into, though. Finally, we had great Sprint LTE reception throughout the campground and even out on the boardwalk paths. Overall this is the nicest government owned campsite we've been to, and I'm sure we'll return.
