We found this place to be well cared for, friendly staff and easy to get to off I-75 (the exit is under construction). Quite, clean and pet friendly. Definitely will stop there again on our way south.
Very easy off the freeway. I've been here before but this time the place looked great, you can tell they are renovating. We will be back again the friendly staff, the pull thru sites are easy and the store accommodates even if they close. If you want to get a large spot I suggest call ahead and book, they are getting lots of notice and are busier then I expected
We used our gps at the address listed and ended up on a country road in the middle of nowhere. If you are using a gps, the address is as follows 658 Pleasant Grove rd Sw McDonald. Just go where gps tells u and you will make it there. The office closes early so calling after 6 is a problem. Sites are reasonably level not perfect. Staff is nice when there.
Very nice helpful people. Park is no longer a KOA.
When I called in the morning of an off-season Monday, I was told that there was plenty of availability and that I could just come on in. When I arrived, I was told that the only option for my 40' (no tow) was the largest and most expensive site and I was charged $48.84 for 110' pull-through. (Really? $50 for Cleveland, TN?) After I settled in, I verified that the price that I saw online was significantly less and that there was more options for my rig available as per the KOA website. I called the front desk to question the price discrepancy and was told that it is the company's policy to charge less when the reservation is made online. I said that they should have told me that when I called earlier and that I think it is deceptive advertising. The park manager came to my door shortly after the phone call and apologized for the misunderstanding and explained the incentive of online booking. She offered a refund of the difference. While I appreciated her effort, the moment of truth had passed. This is my second experience with KOA and I have been disappointed both times. The immediate area does not offer any other options, so make sure that you choose and book online before you arrive.
There are other options and I'm kicking myself for not taking them. The price isn't comensurate with the park. With a 37ft 5th wheel, the turns are tight, the entrance requires you to go in opposing lane on a curve. Ok, I got past all that, only to find a sight that wasn't level side to side, but manageable. Front to back was a different tune. A pull thru is designed so as to not require you to unhook. It was impossible. I ended up having to unhook my truck, and my pin was 6 inches above my hitch. Keep in mind I'm paying $48 for this privledge. I'm a full timer. Setting up is second nature to me and this took me 30 minutes, just to get fairly level, and It was only an overnight, so I wasn't picky. If this place was $35/ngt. I wouldn't gripe, but KOA pisses me off every time. Talk around a fulltimers campfire is never KOA friendly
This is perfectly located on my way down to Florida, half way stop, right off the freeway. I was impressed this park could handle my 45 ft fifth wheel towing a 20ft trailer. It was tight turns but they told me to take it wide and slow and it was perfect. I was in a huge pull thru and didn't have to unhook. I will be back. New owners are working to add more sites and the store is well stocked and remodeled.
In response to the review made 10/07/16 that Chattanooga North/Cleveland KOA is no longer a KOA I can assure you that this campground is in fact still a KOA. You may be thinking of the campground that was Chattanooga South. That campground is no longer a KOA.
Once we got through the construction around the exit at I-75, we found a nice, quiet pretty park. Lots of shade, and the pool looked inviting as the temps hit 95 degrees. We were escorted to our site after an easy check in. There is an easy to get to Pilot gas station just around the corner. We will stay here again. We stayed in a 33 foot motor home, car in tow.
Stayed here last 1st of May and the kids playground was dreary. New owners at the end of May put in new playground and the atmosphere has changed even in the store and game room. Here for meetings and it's good to have a place to leave the family where they can enjoy the pool and playground. Friendly and they guide you to your site by golf cart.
Water and Electric start at $38.50 plus tax Full Hookup start at $38.50 to $45.00 night Some sites as large as 103 feet long
Beautiful Campground, well maintained, great staff, .... will definitely come back... we were on site 50. Great location... it is one those Campgrounds that you wish to stay longer.
