| Needs a lot of updating

Pretty seedy and needs a big time facelift. The pool was so bizarre with the middle being the deep in, needs a complete overhaul. Not great for small children.First time taking friends to a KOA, and I was pretty embarrassed. I would never go back to this one. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.

We were planning a trip to Chicago to visit our son and when looking for an RV park, almost all of the reviews of parks near Chicago were dismal at best. This park got a 3 star review which was about the best we had seen so we made a reservation. We were very pleasantly surprised by how nice it was! The park has lots of trees, grass, and swing sets at each site. We didn't use the showers or restrooms, so I can't speak to that. The park has lots of activities and play equipment for kids. I would definitely stay here again as it is one of the nicest places we've been. It is a 25 minute drive to Crystal Lake which is the nearest train station and an hour and 23 minutes in to Chicago, but definitely worth the trip. We stayed in a 34ft motor home.

We loved this one. After spending the night at another KOA very close to the I-90, this one was extremely quiet. Sites are roomy. WiFi is excellent. We were going to stay 1 night, but stayed 2. Would definitely stay again

| Really nice KOA

Best KOA I've ever stayed at, very clean and well maintained. Staff all super friendly, helpful. Big sites (for KOA) in a big park so lots of room to stretch your legs. Fast wifi.

| Any port in a storm

It was after 9pm when we rolled up without a reservation. The gates were locked and lights were out. We started to make a U turn to leave when the night caretaker came to greet us. Even though they were closed she gave us a pull through with full hookups for $60. Price seemed high but beggars can't be choosers. Showers we're 3 stars. Might be because it was late and I was last.

| Friendly staff, late arrival

We arrived late but staff left an envelope with our name on it in a clearly marked mail cabinet by the gate. It had with a gate keypass and map of our pull through spot. Nice folks in the office. Since they're KOA they had a centralized reservation system which can have its pluses and minuses. Water and electric only pull through.

| Nice campgroind

This is a nice campground. Clean, lots of amenities and friendly staff. Only negative is the site I was in was not even close to level. My left side tires on my 5th wheel were a good 2" off the ground when leveled.

| If you make a reservation, beware

I made a reservation in Feb. to stay for 16 days in late June through early July. I was promised a pull through site with full hook ups. When we arrived, we directed to a very tight back in site with no sewer hook up. I protested, as there sites with sewer hook ups available but was told that those sites were reserved. We argued back and forth and eventually the owner credited me several hundred dollars and paid for someone to come to our site and pump out the tanks twice a week. In the middle of summer there were no other camps available for two weeks, and there was no way I ever would have made a reservation for that long without full hook ups. This IS a nice camp if you get what you are promised. It s the nicest place to stay close to Chicago (approx 90 min train ride), but I will call and confirm that I m getting what I ask for before I stay here again.
