Beautiful, Wooded Campground

For being in a wooded area this campground is very well kept. The sites are clear of trash, the bathrooms were fairly clean, and the dump station was clean. Keep in mind though that there isn't any pavement anywhere and with people walking all over, in the dirt, the restrooms and surrounding area will get dirty. They do a good job of keeping things looking nice though.

I'm sad to say I don't remember the gentleman's name I spoke to on the phone, Dennis, maybe? He was awesome! I was trying to make a reservation on my phone, but the mobile site wasn't showing me any of the site details so I ended up booking a 30amp (our RV is 50amp) site meant for a 32' rig (ours is 36'). He informed me that we would still be able to fit in the space if I didn't mind hanging our "back side" over the back edge. I didn't mind at all and it turned out to be just the right fit. He could have denied the request, but worked with me instead. Thanks!

The site was well kept, however our spot wasn't quite level. Again, it's in a wooded area with dirt sites, so keeping that in mind it really wasn't bad. The entire campground is set up amid the trees and hills without any concrete, anywhere. It's peaceful and pretty quiet - unless you get a rowdy group of neighbors, who drink all night, with large dogs that are left tied up outside to bark and lunge at you when you walk by with your chihuahua mix who didn't do a single thing to them besides glance their way... I'm looking at you "Road Trip".

They have a bathroom with showers (pay by the minute), toilets, a wash basin for the tent campers to wash dishes or laundry in, and a dump station which costs $23 to use. There are sites that have sewer connections, which would be cheaper than paying the additional fee to dump - we didn't have a site with full hookups, only water/electric. Their wifi connection was pretty good and we were able to stream a few shows on standard definition without any problems.

It's a beautiful area, with lots of hiking and outdoor activities. You can't hear much from the highway unless something noisy goes by (ambulance, crazy loud cars, etc.) and most of your neighbors are far enough away that they don't bother you. There's a small town about a mile up the road (Evergreen, CO) with a Walmart, Home Depot, gas station, Starbucks, etc for those small luxuries you may have forgotten at home.
Extra Tips :: Evergreen is a cute little town with a Walmart for overnight/quick parking if needed. If going to the campground from Denver be gentle on your rig going up the mountain, it's a steady up-hill ride and we've seen more rigs pulled off to the side than we can count. There are several places to pull off and let your rig cool down before continuing up.

Nice little camping area close to Denver; some highway noise , but not too bad. We liked our stay and the hosts were very helpful and nice. There is an extra fee to dump, but as long as you are aware, it's not a big deal. Cheaper places to dump down the hill in Golden (Dakota Ridge, Fairgrounds, etc).
