Reviews for Cody Trout Ranch Camp RV Park

Lovely and friendly staff but camp sites were very small and sharp angles. All gravel, no shade, no on camp site fires but they have a communal fire pit. Close to town and amenities. I only recommend to stay if passing through.

Gravel and rock with picnic table. Utilities located near front of site requiring use of an extension cord if your electrical hookup is on rear of camper. Sewer hookup also near front of site. Laundry room only had two washers and two dryers but was clean. Did not visit restrooms or showers. Trout pond located down by tipis is small. Lots of road noise. Had real nice fenced in dog exercise area.

| Very very tight!

I must start by saying I would stay again. I had to move big rocks to get into and out of my site. Very tight for big rigs. I enjoyed my stay, because it was quiet and it was very close to Cody! Lots to do in Cody. The park is run by very nice people and I will stay there again!

Its a nice park. Some discrepancies are they strategically placed rather large hard to move rocks at the corners of the sites and exit roads making it pretty difficult to get a 40' class A with a toad out of there. Otherwise a pretty nice place. Also, they put extremely small trash cans in their bathrooms so in the mornings there is a pile of trash and its scattered everywhere. The trash can's they are using are the type you could fit under your small RV back lavatory sink. Good for about 10 paper towels, not the couple hundred used. That issue and this were added by my wife. The laundry has two washers and two dryers, not much for all the sites, but the owner does a lot of loads during the day for some tepee's they rent out. So its difficult to get a washer during the daytime. She was not happy to have to compete for the very limited resources. There is a gun store in the campground office. Its right on a fast moving river not far downstream from the big dam. There are also fishing ponds that you might not need to have a license to fish, Its about 10 minutes outside of Cody and is very quiet there.

We have made some needed changes for better TURNING RADIUS on the corners as this was a complaint of Large RV with trailers. Larry Frandson Owner

| Nice spot outside of Cody!

We camped in a 24ft class C in mid September for about a week. There were plenty of big rigs there as well. It is a new park - and the trees are still small... so September was a perfect time to visit as we didn't needs ton if shade. *Something to note if you will be visiting mid summer..theres not much shade.* Folks in the past have complained about such things but this really didn't bother us due to the awesome weather...and we'll.. trees grow at their own pace :) It was a nice out of town location, so you aren't in the middle of town and still are close to the shopping and dining. Very level spots, gravel. Our space was on the end and we had a gorgeous view of the mountains and the field. The owners are really nice folks and keep the park ( and bathrooms!) Immaculate! The free coffee house in the a.m....was a nice touch and allowed us to get to know some other folks travelling through. We would stay here again!

If you are headed north and want to turn in to this site you have to cross a solid yellow (no passing) line. A little dangerous. Spots were level and hookups easy to reach. There is no store for sundries, ice, etc. Just a checkin desk and a gun store.
