If you like peaceful, this is the place to be. $10/night for full hookup (water/sewer/electric). Nice and quiet since it's not only in a small town but also in a remote area. The local police patrol often so it's as safe as a place can be.
Nice, well kept quite campground. Plenty of space lots are large. Right on the creek, nice for fishing. The Grifton Police Department heavily patrols the area. Recommended especially if you like quite.
Camped here before and other than the bathhouses being very subpar, I had a good experience. Sadly due to flooding from recent storms, the campground is closed indefinitely.
We stayed here July 6th thru 10 the, 2014. Park has 50/30/20 amp service on 10 sites. It has three rest rooms and two showers. Restrooms are air conditioned. Showers are at the end of restrooms outside. Three walls and a curtain. Maybe need a look out while you shower. Grifton population 2679 in 2012. Piggly Wiggly about a mile away. Police station a mile away. Police patrolled park several times day and night while we were there to visit relatives in Farmville,NC. You call and check in at the Grifton police department and pay officer on duty at office. We camp there in a 31' Airstream travel trailer. We will come again. The rate is $10.00 per night.
Drove through the area and checked to see if open... Yes! It is open for camping. Saw a couple RV's parked on various sites. Camping area has been cleaned up and repaired of the flooding damage.
Just got off the phone with the sheriff's department that runs the campground...sorry, the campground is closed with NO plans to reopen.
