Very clean, quiet, peaceful, beautiful night sky's, easily accommodated our 43 ft 5th wheel without having to disconnect. Not many other people here mid week. Park people are really nice. But, not much to look at. Mostly flat, a few trees. Perfect for a one night stay.

We enjoyed our stay, even though it was just an overnight stop. It was raining when we arrived but it soon stopped. State park's in Texas rarely have more than w/e sites and most are just 30AMP. Here they had 50/30/20 amp and water. One site had fhu but it's normally for the camp host. The sites were long enough for us to stay connected to our rigs. The sites were gravel but level. Each site had a teepee cover over the picnic table. Not much shade but you are in an area of Texas where the trees don't grow very tall. We had Blue Quail come for a visit. We had a beautiful sunrise. The park office has a nice museum depicting area history and artifacts. The park staff was super... We will go back, next time for a longer stay so we can do some fishing in the lake!

| A subtle beauty

We enjoy the breaks topography cutting into the landscape. It isn't flashy, but the hiking trails will reward you with some beautiful sights. Use a hiking pole or a walking stick of some sort on the steeper trails to check for the occasional rattlesnake. The birding is fairly good. The campground we used has level water/electric sites with sheltered picnic tables. Another campground has water only sites.

This park isn't overly scenic, but it is quiet and peaceful. It does have very interesting natural and historical exhibits at the headquarters. You can also see and interact with a portion of the Texas state longhorn herd. RV sites don't have any shade for the RVs or vehicles, but there are shade shelters for the tables and grills. Sites are fairly level and don't require much adjustment. Good views of the night sky and lots of deer and rabbits. Beach/swimming area was completely dried up due to the drought.

Very nice place. It is remote so you need to bring what you need with you. The closest town is 10 miles and doesn't have a large population. The park rangers are very friendly and quite nice. There's lots of hiking and the views are great. The night sky is phenomenal. Large sites.

We had a one night stop in late June. Very hot and only us and three other campers were present. We will put this on our list to come back to when it’s cool. Very nice state park. Very clean and well maintained.

Very nice state park. First visit and spots were good, employees were friendly and helpful. Views are also nice. We will def be back. Only issue is they have one little dump station for all of the RV s right on main drag.
