It's a 5-6 mile drive into the hills to get to Cottonwood Meadows Campground but well worth it. For $6 a night, we had a beautiful site beneath the ponderosas. Camp was quiet when we were there, early September. No amenities, but water is available and vault toilets. We loved it so much we stayed for three nights.
