Reviews for CreekFire Motor Ranch

| Best place we’ve been.

Awesome place to stay. Great sites, not packed in like sardines. It is new and has some quirks to work out. Gary is a great guy who cares about what he does. My 3 year old loved the pools, playground, and bounce houses. Only complaint is the fees. If I can’t elect not to use something just add into price instead of charging separate fee. I know it’s a cost of doing business so just add into nightly price. WiFi is best at any campground we’ve been to and will stream video on free packages. We will be back.

Stayed a week while visiting Savannah, easy to find just off I90. New park with gated entrance, sites are ample in size and are level with picnic table and fire pit. No shade as trees and shrubs planted recently need some years of growth. New bath house and laundry facilities, 8 washers and dryers, everything was clean. Would have given 5 stars but there is 1 long term resident and the site is a s**t hole, cloths hanging off the side of their run down 30 year old camper, 8 rubber made containers under the camper that contain cloths and junk laying about. We'll return next year and hope management has done something.

This is a rather new facility. The pool, pavilions, spaces, everything is relatively new here. That's the good. Here's the issues. The sites although level and set apart from one another are laid out terribly. The pavement is just wide enough for the RV. This wouldn't be an issue but, you can't access the RV without stepping on mud, grass, or pine straw. Something I don't want to track into the coach. There are nice patios on each site but they are not located where they are usable. The utilities are at the front of the sites and so close to the pad so they interfere with the slideout. I can't connect to the sewer because it's at the forward most position of the site. There is no cable TV hookup on any of the sites. They offer Direct TV for a daily fee. Internet is limited unless you pay another fee for better access. After paying $50 per night (discount due to visiting with our RV Club) internet, television access, and site layout should be a lot better without added fees. What also bothers me is upon registering I had to initial and sign waivers that I wouldn't sue the business if something happened during our stay. It was like signing paperwork for buying a house. Well, not that extreme but it is the first time I have encountered this at registration. To me this is not very welcoming to travelers. If it weren't that we are here with our club I would move on and not come back.

| Great place!

New park, some construction still ongoing. Loved the large lake and the walking trail around it. Facilities were first class. Friendly staff. Liked that park is gated. Free internet service was marginal - didn’t try the paid version for one night’s stay. Hope to return!

Great location! Has only been open for 4 months. Very nice pool and hot tube. There is a shuttle every three hours from 9 AM until 9 PM to old town Savannah. The charge is $10 per person for the shuttle. Not all sites have cable connection. The pull through site with cable was $69 per night. The non-pull through sites without cable were $46 per night.

We are in a pull-thru site in a motorhome and love the length and spacing of the sites. The paved roads and grass between sites are great. Very secluded/gated location not too far from historic district. Would return here.

This is a party campground on the weekends

| Worst campground experience ever

By user-5226342... on 2018-07-06. Stayed 2018-05-17 to 2018-05-20

I have a very long list of all the things that went wrong for the 4 days that we stay there. Many of the amenities that they list on their website are broken or do not exist. The heated pool was cold for our 4 day stay. The entire weekend the campsite became a party campground, children driving golf carts around the property, so many elementary kids unsupervised taking over one side of the campsite to the point where we saw a little boy even fall off of one of the golf carts. When we complained we were told it is the workampers fault for not following through and enforcing any of their rules for safety and for respect to other campers. At least 50people on one site for Saturday night. Took over bathhouse, pond, pool, all of it. Friday-Sunday a huge tent setup by another camper and they slept there the entire weekend. We went through 3 golf carts before we just gave up on getting one that ran properly in the first 24 hours. We we're told different money amounts for camping balance owed and their costly shuttle service, on the phone vs when we were in person and manager was present. Leading us to believe with the lack of follow up management, disgruntled employees, that they are taking money off the top from campground. Those are the highlights. We were so happy to actually leave because the place was a stress zone from day one and just continued to get worse. They advertise this campsite like it is a 5 star resort but it is ran like a motel in a bad area. Not to mention they nickel and dime you for everything where most campsites include with high prices ..of course you do not know this till you stay. Campsites 1-3 have this beautiful view of someone's old single wide trailer (it is their backyard) ...not exactly resort material...many other sites had the swamp over ran wooded and weeded area for the view. RESORT campgrounds allow tents to setup and stay the weekend on the docks??? First time seeing that. And you would think that with it being a new campsite...at least most things are in working order since they are new. Nope, advertises 4 fishing poles..they had two out of four and both were broken and they we're going to hand it to us broken....They have a dart board, so we go to office to get darts...we we're told they didn't have any. Change machine did not work and office staff are rude when you ask for change since their machine does not work. Vending machine took our money and office tried to yell at maintenance man about it. And as the maintenance man told them and us, he does not have a key for the machine so he can't fix it or get your money back. No one has this ability we were told. Zero shade, so asphalt is super hot all day. If you can't on the lake side like we did...really a pond, you will need a golf cart to get to pool office, anything really.....it is a long hike to everything and their is a swamp on all sides that is not appealing for kids or pets to have to scurry past. Getting a golf cart will prove difficult though. Not just because it will break down, bc yes this happened 3 times...bit as the office told us that they do not have many golf carts to rent out and the ones they do have are in poor maintenance condition. So you may want to chance it and spend the $30 a day for it but if it is a busy time they will not have enough for most. We counted a handful. In total of our 4 day stay.

| Beautiful park with great amenities

We have stayed at this park twice on our way from NC to Florida. The park is very nice. The amenities were well maintained and resort quality. I do not think the park deserves the negative reviews that appear here. Can t imagine how anyone could not love this park unless they just have unreasonable expectations. Every time we go to a new park our kids compare it to this one. We always get a site by the lake and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Beautiful resort. Still working on things but a great campground close to Savannah and Tybee island. Not many rigs when we were there (said it was their busy session so Passport America was not accepted) ?? Trash was in our fire ring. Surprised they don't clean the ring out. Staff friendly.

| Exceptional Park w/great amenities

By user-4545185... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2018-10-16 to 2018-10-30

Stayed here for 2 wks. Park was full on 1st weekend and nearly so on Halloween weekend. I didn't see any of the negativity mentioned in other reviews even when kids were definitely present on Halloween. The amenities are fantastic. Laundry room had a/c! Pool was lovely & refreshing. They offer a shuttle service to downtown Savannah which was cheaper than parking and really nice, also offer to Tybee Island if one doesn't want to drive there. Around the corner is a lovely Coastal Georgia Botanical Garden. There are all kinds of games throughout the park and in arcade center. Cable TV reception was lousy, wifi was average. Large pond on site with boat rentals available and nice walking paths. The staff I interacted with were very professional and helpful.

#87 back in paved sIte. Very nice place we will stay again for sure. Heated pools & hot tub. Staff was very nice and we had a beautiful view of the lake. Enjoyed running the trail around the lake in the mornings.

Beautiful new park. All paved roads and roomy sites. WiFi is $5 per day extra. Unfortunately, it was too dog and kid friendly for us. We were surrounded by campers with 3 or 4 dogs each. Constant barking and growling. Kids ran wild on scooters, bikes and hover boards cutting thru sites and up and down streets with little or no supervision. After dark you couldn't see them until you were nearly run over. Went on far after the 10pm curfew. Great place if you have kids and dogs but not for us! Will not return.

We stayed the weekend before Thanksgiving and really enjoyed this campground. We plan to return over Spring Break. Nice amenities and very well landscaped grounds. Lots of fun activities and very kid/pet friendly.

| Nice...But expected a bit better.

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.

Great new place. Sites need a bit more privacy with plants....In time the new plants will grow. Pool and club hpuse nice. We r here in off season- seems a bit like we are here filling time for them as the pool area and lounge are sort of put away and like they are closed. No music on in lounge....no fire 8n any firplece....Would make such a d9fference to feel warm, cozy akd welcomed. I guess i shouldnt complain but if u have all the amenities, have them on and able to be enjoyed.

Great new park. Laid out well with nice amenities. No large trees yet but they have planted many since our first stay last year. I am sure in Summer this lack of trees makes it hot but for camping in Winter, it is great to have all the sun. You can pay 25.00 to wash your coach....nice option for travelers with salt on their rigs. Pool is great, hot tub great...The game area is now quite cluttered with folding tables and chairs so that is a bit disappointing. Would jave loved to enter the lodge area and see the fireplaces going and music playing to welcome all. Hard to see a beautiful space like that just cold and uninviting...I like arriving and or visiting and seeing everything staged nicely and in working order and on. Seems more kids are at the front of the campground. Less at the pond area. Sites are level and fairly wide. Those by the pond are smaller and tighter than the front area. Neighbors had a pair of brking dogs but that is not the campground's issue....although had staff walked around, they would have noticed. All in all a great place. Staff is all new the last couple months and they are nice. Some confusion on check in with the invoice however all was worked out. We will be back.

Easy on off of I-95,. Beautiful, clean, nice people, shuttle to Savannah. Would stay again.

| Very frustrating

By user-4986445... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2019-03-22 to 2019-03-28

I would not recommend this park to anybody. The front desk doesn t know what it s doing and you cannot get them to listen or follow through properly on your reservation. Then they spread our rally members from one end to another even though plans were made months in advance. Miserable experience. On top of that their rates are too high.

We were happy with our stay but they could not extend our stay. A bit pricey but we were able to take advantage of a Spring special

| Nice clean resort

By user-5280788... on 2019-08-09.

This is a nice place. Long pull through concrete pads at some sites, and nice level gravel back in sites at others. 5 washers and 7 dryers in laundry room, with a resort this big, could use another laundry area. There are some sites in the back by the lake with some shade, there is little or no shade in the front area of the park, thankful for my awning. Easy on and off I-95, no road noise whatsoever. 10 miles to downtown Savannah, so an easy drive in without staying there. The Shellhouse Restaurant less than a mile away is excellent!!! They advertise cable TV but it's not at all sites, enjoyed watching the Ed Sullivan show over the air. We also had all the major networks but who camps to watch TV? We will definitely be back.

This is a very nice campground and worth the few extra $$ Level pads and paved roads. Friendly staff. In the country but a short drive into downtown Savannah.

This is a new park. Fancy gates, nice office, amenities seem plentiful. However, we paid for a pull through site that we had to unhook to pull into. Escort sat and watched us. Over charged us "by mistake". Very unorganized.

| Great spot

By user-4739273... on 2019-08-09.

Free wifi, but Tengo. It is sometimes not very easy to get online. Once your are in it works enough for us. Lots of HD reception on your antenna. They have a very good resort feeling, great ambiance and friendly staff when you come in, they escort you to your site. We had a gravel backin, nice with grass, a table and very quiet. No trains, no roadnoise. Easy coming of the interstate and close to visit Savannah. They have an very nice warm pool to relax after visiting Savannah. We think this is how a resort has to look like, expensive but chapeau. We loved our stay.

Beautiful park and friendly help. Escort to site. The only down side was there were a lot of kids in the pool. We stayed in our 31' Fleetwood Fiesta.
